Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Season 10 Week 1

Recommended Posts

Welcome to week one of our

tenth Rays Funds season. It’s great to be back again and let’s hope we can

raise loads more money for our wonderful DS boys and girls. As is customary our

current champion Norfolkbroadslim is in charge of the final six selections this

weekend. ‘Slim hasn’t confirmed yet so I’m hoping you get here buddy. NBS finished

last season with amazing stats of 38/40 95% correct picks. Richard has won with

the final selections on three previous occasions so we have a great chance of

opening the season with a win. But of course even with our champion in charge

we still need all the help we can get by giving your very best selections from

the games played on Sat/Sun/Mon of this weekend that are listed on the William Hill or Bet365 web site.

Once again this season our

wonderful anonymous benefactor is financing the Norwich match bet. I am so

grateful to PuPanon for this continued generous support. What a star! Making

the choices from the Norwich match suggestions for our game at Blackburn we

have 93vintage who won our profitability league last season having made a

profit of 8.63 over the year. I know 93v, who has won with this before, has

been preparing for this and is looking forward to your suggestions. Good luck

buddy, you have a tenner to spend choosing from the PUPs selections and your

own.

Rays

Funds is not pay to play but obviously I do need 40 tenners to get through the

season. If you’d like to send one my paypal is canaryeddie@aol.com or you can use that

email to get my post address or I will be in the Nelson after the Sheff Wed and

Bristol City games.

Our

great friend Hissing Sid has set up a PUPs league for those of us who play the

Sky Sports Super Six. You are all welcome to join and the code is 1FB72C. Thanks Ian for

setting this up.

Now I’ll hand the thread over

to Norfolkbroadslim and 93vintage. Remember theres no pressure because we are all going to be doing our best to help you to

success. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money for the

Community Sports Foundation.

Good luck all you PUPs... take it away Richard and Jeff ... the thread

is yours.......[:)]........

It is great to be doing this once again.

Thanks to Nutty Nigel for keeping it going into its 10th season!

I''m kicking off with a home win for Hajduk Split v. Istra.

The Croatian season is fairly new. Hajduk Split have won both their games and Istra have drawn 1 and lost 2.

Good Luck, nbs!

As for the Norwich bet ~ Howson to score any time.

Good Luck, 93vintage.

And we begin again. Ten years in too...big thanks to Nutty for keeping this going for yet another season.

So, here goes. After last year''s shocker, this season''s strategy is going to be....pick lots of winners!!!

So it''s off to Norway where they''re in the middle of their season, so there''s some form to look at. With that in mind, a Sunday offering...

IK Start (Bottom, 0-7-11 14-38) v Odd BK (2nd, 10-4-4 26-17) - Away Win

And something ultra positive for the match bet...HT/FT Norwich/Norwich.

Best of luck NBS, vintage and all you PUPs

I''ve just sent you my tenner Eddie, sorry for the delay. It''s great to be back on the best thread on the board! My pick this week is CSKA Moscow to win at home to FC Orenburg in the Russian Premier League. The reigning champions should be far too strong for last year''s second-division winners.
I''m looking for ''Correct Score'' and ''HT/FT'' bets, as my plan is to make several of these.
I''ll go HT Draw, FT Norwich - 9/2 with Bill Hill. And as we''ll be looking to attack but are shaky at the back, 3-2 Norwich is 40/1 on the ''correct score'' front.

Where did the summer go? I always think the start of the footie season signals the end of it.

Anyway, it''s still good to be back and to see that Ray''s legacy lives on.

Now down to business then. I''ll go for the Czech league where I think Slavia Prague will beat Fastav Zlin. For City''s game - hope I''m wrong but I think this will be a wake up call and we could lose this especially as we rarely seem to hit the ground running. So sadly - home win.

Good luck NBS and 93V.

Austria for me - FC SALZBURG v St Polten - HOME WIN

For the Norwich bet - Ghouls, lots of them even though we haven''t (yet) signed a striker I expect AN''s mantra to be score more than the opposition!

Blackburn 3 - 5 Norwich

At last, football is now properly back, and great to be part of the pup''s again.

Week one, do they come any harder than this week I wonder?

For me I''m going to Holland Eredivisie and a home win for FC Twente v Excelsior.

And city to win 2-1 with Naismith on the score sheet.

Good luck one and all.

Ah, Pups, it''s good to see you all back.

I think the Euro''s have made the summer pass awfully quickly, but I''m looking forward to having some football back on show!

My bet for this week is; Hull vs Leicester - AWAY WIN. Whilst I don''t think Leicester will be AS good this year, they should be able to start things off with a "welcome to the Premier League" win against Hull with okay odds of 6/5 at the moment.

For the match bet; I think we''d be foolish after this terrific pre-season to not put a quid or two on our Wesley to celebrate his new contract with a goal.

Time to swot up on the Championship again I guess.

*sigh*

Given my current lack of knowledge, I''m punting for a fairly safe (and probably low return) home win for Nottingham Forest over Burton. Could regret it but on paper this should be a winner for the longtime under-achievers.

For the Norwich match, given the events of the last six months we must surely have learned that there really is no such thing as a sure thing. However, given our pre-season seems to have indicated we still have a somewhat relaxed approach to defending but a goal or two in the legs, I''m going for over 2.5 goals.

Good luck all!

Firstly I''d like to say a great big ''THANK YOU'' to Nigel/Eddie for keeping this thread going again. I know that I sometimes find it difficult to spare the time to make a decent pick each week, but he not only remembers to start off the thread every week but then checks up on it, bumps it, organises the rota, places the bets, checks the results and then works out the tables-it''s a full time job-no wonder he had to give up cleaning the ''boys'' and calling the bingo!

Anyway, on to the matter in hand.

Avoiding the first week pitfalls, I''ve gone for a league where they are already well into the season.

IFK Mariehamn, who I have never heard of before, are top of the Finnish league after 19 games and are at home to HIFK Helsinki, who are 11th out of 12. Mariehamn are still not sure of the title so I imagine that they will still be doing their utmost to win. Odds are 13/20.

Interesting fact. Mariehamn is the capital of Aland, an autonomous territory under Finnish sovereignty, and about 88% of the inhabitants speak Swedish rather than Finnish.

Good luck to all PUPs but especially to NBS and 93 Vintage.

What a joy to be back taking part in the best and most worthy tread on this or any other forum.

Luck and best to Pups and all those who support, join or just read this thread with interest. Thanks and best wishes to the fabulous Nutty for driving the Pups forward to the benefit of the CSF and the DS Team, look forward to supporting all in whatever small way we can. Every tenner, pledge or donation has real value to real lives.

First week we''ll celebrate the Olympics and support the Women''s Footbal with:

Canada Women vs Zimbabwe Women - Home win

Go Pups everywhere..!..👏👌🦀💰

Norwich bet week one always a head vs heart vs history vs hype kind of week.....

Perhaps a little undercooked, though we have a lot of good players compared to Blackburn. If we score first can see us wining well, if not can see a messy scrap ensuing and maybe even a nothing game or an unlikely defeat against the play.

Instinct says we''ll win and win well. I like Naismith, he has top level movement between the lines and a fluidity to his play. Too good for Blackburn so:

Naismith to score and Norwich to win.

Andiamo al night..!...👏❤️😂🇮🇹🎼🎼🏆🏆😻😻
