Alan Ball 0 Posted October 23, 2005 Since shacks has been out of team, played 7, goals for 9 goals against 11.When he was with flem played 10, goals for 10 against 10.Not so bad after all.Look at opposition Palace, southampton,Leeds,Watford, all top six teams, also with a bit of luck in front of goal all could and should have been wins, stoke we played most of second half with 10 men ?Hope he is back soon to partner davenport. 3pmkickoff 0 Posted October 23, 2005 It''s not the just the defence, last season we leaked so many goals due to not being able to keep posession in the middle of the park. This season the amount of times players have had time and space to run at us is shocking. Davenport is not the messiah, he''s a solid centre back but certainly not a player we should be spending over a million on.

You know full well that 7 of those goals have been conceded in the last 2 games and which particular player has been missing for those two games? He''s not a defender if you need a clue. ZLF 271 Posted October 24, 2005 You cant drop doc - for the vast majority of the recent games he has comfortably out performed Davenport who has looked OK but not worth a multi million pound purchase. As vicar points out elsewhere the toothless midfield is the key - cant win the ball, no closing down, poor tackling, no pace, poor passing and no movement. The S Times gave our combined midfield 4 a total of 18 out of 40 - Charlie & Zipper 5 each, Hendo and Hughes 4 a piece. That sort of performance gives the defence too much exposure and too much to do.It is all too predicatable and all too depressing. OTBC
