nutty nigel 7,820 Posted May 4, 2016 Welcome to week forty, the penultimate week of our Rays Funds season. In charge of the six results this week we have Crabbycanary making the final selections for the first time. Crabby has done brilliantly selecting in this his first full season. He was really consistent early on and at half way looked a real threat to the top PUPs in our main league and was top of the profitability league. I’ve seen enough to know Crabby will be a real threat next season and he has proved to be a great asset to this wonderful team of PUPs. Crabby already has his name on Ray’s signature having won twice with the match bet. I think Crabby has a great chance of getting us back to winning ways so please give him your very best selections from the games played on Sat/Sun/Mon of this weekend that are listed on the William Hill or Bet365 web site. After I was unable to get any new recruits for the Manchester United game I was grateful to Norfolkbroadslim for volunteering to step up to the plate. Slim is our current champion having had the PUPs league in his pocket for a couple of weeks now. I’m really looking forward to what you come up with buddy. You have a tenner to spend choosing from the PUPs selections and your own. I’m definitely running Rays Funds at the Euros. It''s a fiver to enter with £2.50 going straight into our presentation pot and you PUPs who enter each choosing £2.50 worth of pre-tournament bets. All the money won will also go to the presentation pot and the shirt will go to the PUP who wins most money. Entries can come from anywhere in the world because the shirt can be posted. I will make a separate thread for this at the end of the season. Now I’ll hand the thread over to Crabbycanary and Norfolkbroadslim. Remember there’s no pressure because we are all going to be doing our best to help you to success. We all stand together with the single aim of raising money for the Community Sports Foundation. Good luck all you PUPs... take it away Jeff and Richard ... the thread is yours....... wooster 134 Posted May 4, 2016 Good luck Crabby Canary & Norfolkbroadslim - let''s hope we can manage a couple of winning selections. To that end I have the following obvious results:Sunderland - Chelsea to draw, unfortunately, at 5/2.Norwich to win 3-1, (why not?), at 40/1.To calibrate these you may have noticed that I don''t appear on either of Nutty''s tables ...... Crabbycanary3 994 Posted May 5, 2016 Thank you for the invite, and intro Nutty. Have you been speaking to Mrs Crabby? It''s uncanny you talking about my good start and then fading away, that''s all.I will pass on my thoughts to you, on Friday evening, if that is ok?
norfolkbroadslim 223 Posted May 5, 2016 Many thanks for the opportunity Nutty.I have a bit of a strategy, well a broad strategy which I''ll refine over today and tomorrow. I am probably going to go something along the lines of a few safe ones, where hopefully I''ll cover enough to win at least something, perhaps then a couple of medium risks, and definitely a few very, very long shots, where even a 50pm stake would yield a very good return.I mentioned in last week''s thread I had a bit of a premonition about the game. It''s probably nonsense, but the premonition was a very vivid image of Robert Fleck scoring against Man U. Like I say it could be nonsense, or it could be interpreted in a few ways. Perhaps the scoreline, Fleck scored both goals in the second half of a 2-0 win at home to Man U in January 1990. He also scored a goal at Man U in 1988. I am probably going to take it as the home game. Perhaps not the score, but I think I might see the image of Fleck as representing our current, not very tall, blonde haired Scottish forward, Naismith. For my pick this week for Crabby''s final 6, I might go for something totally wild (I have something in mind) in a desperate bid to reach the top of the profitability table.Anyway, enough rambling for now, good luck everyone, especially Crabby. Mr Apples 1,385 Posted May 5, 2016 Off to Norway for me with Rosenborg vs. Stabæk (home win). For the match bet I''ll go for draw HT, City FT.Best of luck everyone.Apples
Feedthewolf 5,686 Posted May 5, 2016 Russian League: Anzhi v Zenit - away win.Zenit are in 4th but still only four points off the top, so will be desperate to keep their title hopes alive. Anzhi are rock bottom with only one home win all season. For the match bet, I''m afraid I can''t see a rejuvenated United slipping up in their quest for the Champions League, so I''ll go with United to win and both teams to score at 3/1.Good luck all! Mr Angry 1,797 Posted May 5, 2016 I''m picking the Accrington game for the 3rd time in recent weeks. They''re 2nd but still not got automatic promotion so they''ll be going for the win against Stevenage, who are safe in 19th. Home win is 1/3.For the Norwich bet, a repeat of the result at Old Trafford, i.e. a 2-1 win for us.Best of luck to Crabby and NBS, and all PUPs all over the world. Cosmic Twin 192 Posted May 5, 2016 I''m also going for a home win for Rosenborg v. Parma Ham's gone mouldy 2,387 Posted May 5, 2016 Off to Azerbaijan this week for:Qarabag vs Sumqayit - Home winNorwich still have it in them to survive. Pre-season I felt that they would scrape 17th, representing great success.Looking at the actualite'' the stage is set, it is probably a position we would have taken: maybe two wins from the last 3 games to survive, two points to make up with a game in hand.I think a point on Saturday against United is a good result, paving the way for two end-of-season wins, so:Norwich vs United - DrawGood luck to Champion ''slim and Crabby...Parma 💰🇮🇹🍝😘🎉👌👏👊🏼

PurpleCanary 6,196 Posted May 6, 2016 I had been contemplating a trip to Azerbaijan but Parma got there first! So to the Nordost-Nord section of the German Oberliga.Hansa Rostock II to win at home against FC Frankfurt.Hansa Rostock II, with a 10-0-2 and 37/5 home record, still have a good chance of taking the one promtion place. FC Frankfurt, with a 2-1-9 and 12/30 away record, are close to being relegated. They did have a 4-0 win recently, but that was against the bottom team. Form generally points to a home win here, as reflected in the odds of 1/8.---For the NCFC bet I suggest Mbokani to come on and score the last goal, at 17/2.Good luck to all! Duncan Edwards 2,371 Posted May 6, 2016 Sunderland vs CHELSEA - Away win.Sunderland are crap. Pressure is off Chelsea. 7/5 is huge, normally Chelsea would be about 4/6 for this fixture. For the Norwich bet....at 8/1 I can''t stray much past a Norwich win and both teams to score nod. If both my selections come in, I''ll have a decent weekend. Good Luck all.
