Parma Ham's gone mouldy 2,219 Posted May 16, 2016 Setting a team up whilst superior is easy. How would you set up a regularly inferior Premier League side and what overriding principles would you establish?Parma
wooster 134 Posted May 16, 2016 A recurring theme over the season, certainly post Newcastle away, was that AN changed his modus operandi and made substitutions too late and with little effect. How far can managers pre-empt games and establish within the squad what is Plan A for the game and then switch to Plan B and (maybe) Plan C in the light of the opposition''s performance, assuming that injuries don''t otherwise over-ride premeditated changes. paddycanary 538 Posted May 17, 2016 Looking at our younger up and coming squad members, e.g. Maddison, Murphy twins, Morris, Toffolo, Loza, Thompson, McGrandles, Godfrey, Adams, Hall-Johnson etc. - Who do the lads believe might be genuinely ready to play an important role across a long and gruelling Championship campaign? Do you take the risk of bedding a few in and giving them the experience or do they play bit-part roles and you go for the safer option of tried & trusted players with Championship experience. Second half of season suggests that perhaps some ''youthful exuberance'' might give the squad a much-needed breath of fresh air? Perhaps best for all parties if the likes of Whittaker, Turner, Bassong, Lafferty, Andreu, Mulumbu can be moved on. Also, is it foolish to think that Odjidja-Ofoe might come good next season? His career has stalled badly since arriving
