paul moy 235 Posted June 1, 2016 Very well travelled and have been to France many times, worked there for six months in 1997, and for World Cup 1998 but will not take unnecessary risks at this time. Incidentally I was at the Munich beerfest in 1980:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktoberfest_terror_attack
Mr Apples 1,317 Posted June 1, 2016 Any why exactly is France particularly dangerous at the moment?Apples
paul moy 235 Posted June 1, 2016 Quite a few reasons actually but here''s a couple:http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/14526941.US_State_Department_warn_of_terror_attacks_at_Euro_2016/https://www.jihadwatch.org/2016/03/france-battling-jihadis-in-police-force-military
Mr Apples 1,317 Posted June 1, 2016 Well that''s clinched it for me...should I also avoid French products at my local supermarket in case I''m spied by a Jihadi who then decides to seek vengeance on me for my obvious pro-Franco/anti-Islamic dinner and beverage choice?Apples
king canary 7,580 Posted June 1, 2016 A website called ''Jihadi Watch.''That''ll be a totally reasonable news source and not at all full of scaremongering racists.

PurpleCanary 5,554 Posted June 1, 2016 To be fair to Paul Moy (not a phrase that usually comes to mind...) Marseille does have an unfortunately justified reputation for gang warfare, including drive-by shootings. But not in the touristy parts of the city centre, or at the football stadium. paul moy 235 Posted June 1, 2016 ... but there was an attempted attack on a Stade de France football stadium in Paris last year:http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-34818994
daly 500 Posted June 1, 2016 The Calais jungle where all the hard working Immigrants are trying to get to The Dole Office in England or Prince of Wales Rd on a Saturday night in Norwich with all the vodka fuelled mini skirted 15 year olds is probably a more dangerous place to be rather than Marseille

Katie Borkins 1 Posted June 1, 2016 At the risk of sounding a bit Daily Mail myself, the minute you refuse to live your life the way you want to live it, because you are fearful of what might happen courtesy of a bunch of unpredictable fundamentalist nutjobs, is the minute that the fundamentalist nutjobs win by making you cower away from living your life.Cherish your freedom.
