Katie Borkins 1 Posted June 3, 2016 Prompted by this excellent article by Zoé Morgan. Apologies Zoé, no idea how to do umlauts so technically I am misspelling your name.http://www.thelittleyellowbirdproject.co.uk/articles/2016/2/9/twenty-years-of-delia"When I take my seat at Carrow Road I instinctively check on the almost reassuring presence of Delia, Michael, and Delia’s mum in the executive box across the pitch. It may soon be necessary, due to the constant financial demands of modern football, or even old age, that they are no longer majority shareholders at Norwich City. But while they are still there, joining in with On the Ball, City, and cheering as loud (if not louder) than the rest of us, the club is in well-meaning hands.Delia loves Norwich City, but love can often be lost in a world of commercial targets and agents’ fees. Perhaps it will only be when a new owner is in charge that we will really appreciate Delia’s love and understanding."Let''s do this.
Lessingham Canary 99 Posted June 3, 2016 When I take my seat at Carrow Road I instinctively check on the almost reassuring presence of Delia, Michael, and Delia’s mum in the executive box across the pitch.Whats not so reassuring is she doesn''t know what stand she will be sitting in next season, good article and i fear she is right, sometimes you don''t know what you have until it''s gone ! A Load of Squit 5,162 Posted June 3, 2016 I liked the article, one slight niggle, Etty, Delia and Michael sit in the Directors box (not executive).
PurpleCanary 5,558 Posted June 3, 2016 She says Smith and Jones twice came close to selling the club, to Cullum and then to Fernandes. I don''t believe they were at all tempted in either case.

Or do you think it’s going to be like The Queen, no intention of abdicating?
6088m canary 0 Posted June 4, 2016 And there is modern football summed up:"When i take my seat........." (most likely at 2.55pm) Wouldn''t it be great if the stadium was nearly packed at 230 with everyone stood up and making some noise.

Dean Coneys boots 1,400 Posted June 4, 2016 The article is heart warming because it is sentimental. But in terms of ambition it comes unstuck. To use an analogy. I still look back with misty eyes to the time when the local greengrocer loved his little shop and knew our names. But, for good or bad, Tesco et all came along and he could no longer compete in the big boy market. I guess we have to ask. Do we want to be little Norwich with lovely owners in the champ or a major team covering East Anglia in the Prem? To be the latter we need to push on to the next level and, sad to say, appointments like best friend Balls and nephews will only leave stale air in the board room and not refresh it. All eras must end and rot occurs when people hold on too long. *as Worthy proved
A Load of Squit 5,162 Posted June 4, 2016 We still have a local greegrocer & a butcher and they thrive because the customers like them, your one probably doesn''t exist any more because you took the easy option.

Indy 3,299 Posted June 4, 2016 Do you think Wes will be here for 5 seasons? I think two years a promotion and onto a bigger club like Leicester. That would mean Hucks would take over by 2036!
