Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 35

Recommended Posts

Welcome to week thirty five of

our Rays Funds season. This week we have a Rays Funds Icon with Leedscanary selecting

the final six matches. Kev has been an absolute hero for all us PUPs since the

very start. Ray thought the world of him and used to call him his Young Gun. It

would probably take more than the whole of this week''s thread to list everything he’s done for us over the

years. Suffice to say that, despite being exiled in Leeds, Kev has always been

here for us when we needed him. He will be at Carrow Park on Saturday for our

presentation and I need him again next week as I will be away and Kev has

kindly offered to look after the thread for me. Oh and he’s top picker too with

a hat-trick of previous final six wins. We couldn’t be in safer hands. Let’s

help him to a fourth win with our very best selections from the games Sat/Sun/Mon

of this weekend that are listed on the William

Hill or Bet 365 web site.

This week we have a special

guest looking after the selections for our Norwich bet in the game against

Newcastle. After my mess up last month I’m glad that he was so understanding as

to enable me to give a belated Rays Funds welcome this week to Mr Jenkins. I

love it when some more posters agree to take part. We have nearly ten years of

history behind us now but we need to stay up to date and for the regular

posters to feel part of our threads. It really is open to all and I am grateful

to Mr Jenkins for joining us. Mr Jenkins, you have a tenner to spend on

selections from the PUPs and of course your own. Any questions just ask on the

thread and I hope you enjoy the experience and return often.

I hope as many of you as possible can join us on Saturday at Carrow Park

for our wonderful DS team’s match against Newcastle. The kick off is 1pm. Our friend at the CSF Emma has invited as

many PUPs as possible to come along and cheer them on but also take part

in a small presentation with the participants on the Carrow Park pitch, planned

at approx. 2pm. I really hope we get a good turn out. The DS boys and girls

would love to see you there. A further anonymous donation of £23 came in this

week so the presentation cheque will be for £1500. Last March we presented £800 and I thought that was loads. I

never would have thought it possible to raise this amount of money on an

internet football message board. What stars you all are.

Now I’ll hand the thread over to Leedscanary and Mr Jenkins. Remember

theres no pressure because we are

all going to be doing our best to help you to success. We all stand together

with the single aim of raising money for the Community Sports Foundation.

Good luck all you PUPs... take it away Kev and Mr J ... the thread is

yours.......[:)]......

Wow - thanks for the more than generous intro Nutty, I only do what I can for the Pups its a cause close to my heart. Now Ray did indeed call me his Young Gun but given that was nearly 10 years ago this Young Gun is getting a bit long in the tooth.

Looking forward to seeing all the selections - I won''t be selecting the final six until very late on Friday night or very early on Saturday morning so plenty of time to get your best Naps for me.

For the Norwich bet for Mr Jenkins I''ll plump for a Patrick Bamford hat-trick @ 70/1

An offering from League 2 for my old mate Kev with

Northampton v Notts County - Home Win

Northampton are some 13pts clear at the top, and have 4-4-0 14-8 in their last 8, Notts County are near the bottom with 0-2-6 3-15 in their last 8.

For the match bet, a revenge 6-2 is 500/1. Think I''d just plump for HT/FT Norwich/Norwich though!

Best of luck Kev, Mr Jenkins and all you PUPs.

May I just say, I was privileged to be part of the presentation to the CSF last year and it was a great experience. If you can get down to Carrow Park on Saturday, please do. Looking forward to seeing as many PUPs as possible there.

I''ll be honest, I''ve given up on looking at odds, logically picking a fixture and either picking shock losses or draws over most of the past weeks since Christmas.

This week, I''ve jotted down the top 6 from every English division, jumbled them up and and picked one at random in the hope it''ll actually bring me some luck.

The lucky pick is;

Shrewsbury vs Wigan - Away win!

Ricky Martin has always been a great friend to us PUPs. He''s running the London Marathon for Skin Cancer research in memory of Trevor Lemmon.

Good luck Ricky.

Also it''s community week at the CSF which we will see plenty of on Saturday but here''s a great video of the recent ''Wish Day'' at Colney : -

A rushed early pick. The Nord section of the German Regionaliga.VfB Oldenburg to win at home against Schilksee.VfB Oldenburg, with a 7-4-0 and 23/7 home record, need points to stay in the only promotion place. Schilksee, with a 0-3-9 and 9/28 away record, are rock bottom. The current Bet365 odds are 1/16 but other bookies have more attractive odds around 1/6 to 1/8, and so might William Hill when they get round to it, which they should do tomorrow.---For the NCFC bet I have given up on Klose to score last, which should ensure he does, and now suggest Bamford to net the final goal, at 11/2.Good luck to all!

£1500 is a fabulous sum and it is a proud week for those that have conceived, inspired and maintained the Pups programme...well done and a thank you to you all.

That the funds raised from these threads and pledges do genuine good, providing joy and opportunity for others, is community at its finest. This thread helps others, whilst also helping bring out the best in ourselves. As coaches like to say "show, don''t tell". Amen.

Tasmanian T-League
