Klose injury

Recommended Posts

Maybe a chance of having him on the bench?

We can go with Bennett and Bassong and then if we need to Klose the game out (pun intended) on he comes!

Same if one of those two is struggling.
People who point out their puns are like comedians who explain their jokes: they both think you''re too stupid to get it. The only good thing about the phrase "pun intended" is that it saves you time when you want to say "hello, I''m going to be at the bag convention this weekend, please be sure to stop by and say ''hi.'' I''ll be at the douche exhibit." Here''s the deal: when you point out your puns, you''re making a value judgement on me, the reader. You''re saying:

"Hey reader, you see that play on words I just made? Yeah, well that wasn''t an accident. In fact, I thought it was so clever that I didn''t think your simple mind would be able to comprehend the brilliance of my play on words, and I wanted to make sure you know that I''m not only smart enough to use homonyms, but that I''m smart enough to point them out."

The sheer level of narcissism it takes to think that anyone gives a shit about whether or not you meant to write your pun is mind boggling. If narcissism were measured in units of mass, the skulls of people who pointed out puns would crush in on themselves in a giant black hole of stupidity.

this is quite possibly one of the most unnecessarily d*ckish things I''ve read on here. and with some of our posters, that''s saying something.

But I''m sure nobody in here has done that...
each to their own but I hate going to corporate hosp.

One of my mates works for a company that had Man U CH and I''ve been a couple of times, nice meal but then for the game you''re sat with the Man U fans in the stand behind the dugouts - where''s the fun in that? Give me the away section any time.

Hogesar - I don''t disagree with the sentiment of what you said (although it seems that I''m not as bothered as you as I haven''t ended up in some bizarre rage over it), but the way you said it made you look like an absolute d1ckhead. Totally unnecessary. Other posters have rightly Klosed you down on the random outburst. I just hope that when you read the responses that you don''t end up Klose to tears. This forum is meant to bring us fans Kloser together, not divide us further. Case Klosed.
(All puns intended, or at least Klose to intentional)

Hahaha.
Sorry TJ, et all for any offence. Although maybe I should be offended that the lot of you thought I wrote it! Ho-hum.
It''s actually not my rant or rage, it''s just TJ''s pun intended line reminded me of an author who used to blog about the most random things that wound him up. He''s actually ended up making a lot of money from it, but anyway, for reference, you can find it at http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=puns
There''s lots more articles too, if it''s your kind of thing. The responses suggest maybe not. [:D]

Yeah, corporate sucks if your team wins basically. Makes you want to be in with your own fans etc. It sometimes acts as light pain relief if you lose though. [:)]

Could be those 2 times i''ve mentioned it in about 8 years, granted.

So is it going to be mandatory on this board to say Klose whenever you mean close from now on ?

Like it''s necessary to say 1p5wich ?

Mind you, that''s important for me because I feel dirty if I type Ip.. Ips... errgh can''t do it.

Afraid I did think it was your own writing Hog... It just seemed a bit of an excessive reaction and I thought you must be having a really really bad day to sit down and type all of that in response to TJ  just saying "pun intended".   Makes sense to me now.

Think that must almost certainly rule him out for Saturday if he hasn''t even been able to jog all week.

Looking for the positives between the lines I guess the fact that the medical advice seems to amount to nothing more than resting it must be good news. No need for an operation or mention of ligament damage. Fingers crossed it''s just the one game missing.

Not interested in the fact he hasn''t trained this week. Hasn''t even jogged, in fact:

The Swiss centre half jarred his knee when falling in the first half of last weekend''s defeat at Crystal Palace.

"It is understood that, having seen a specialist, Klose was advised to rest the joint and has not even returned to jogging.

Sky sources understand Sebastian Bassong is likely to replace Klose if he fails to recover in time."

I think that''s pretty relevant, & also something we weren''t aware of. Certainly more relevant than the endless private spats going on.

Think your football related link got swamped in all the detritus Ron. Was the first real report about the injury that I''ve seen so thanks for posting.

Not the best news but not the worst either. Getting him back for the last four games looks like the best we can hope for.

This cloak and dagger stuff is so common in the game today that even what the players had for breakfast is probably kept a big secret.

Quite right too there being the thickness of a sheet of paper between success and failure.

The Close injury (sorry) looked bad at the time, but such is the secrecy since he was carried off that none of us have the slightest clue as to whether he will play on Saturday or not.

Neither has Sam Alladyce.

Yeah its good that the club are keeping it quite, fingers crossed. I don''t mind Bassong with Bennett too much but Klose is such a beast for us.

Sorry Ron I''d missed it - because the link wasn''t a clicky link and just said "Klose doubtful ?" which we already knew, I thought it wasn''t anything new.

But as HC has said, if he''s not even been jogging, we''d expect him not to be playing Saturday.  If that''s true of course.  But likelihood is he''s out, hopefully with 3 weeks from last Saturday until the Arsenal game he''ll have time to get fit.

Glad that this is the case, I would have thought you were Klose to a mental breakdown if that had been your own response!

Neither has Sam Alladyce.
I just hope certain posters don''t ruin it by posting the teamsheet to the whole internet on Friday.
Dear god, I can''t believe how many of you think it actually matters.
Point 1 - if a fan can get hold of the team, do you not think a football club with thousands of connections across the world of football might also be able to?
Point 2 - Do you actually think people from the club sit on the internet, looking at opposition fan message boards?
Point 3 - Do you think even if they did, that they would know specifically to look for certain posters? Have they been on here for months and built up an idea of who the reliable posters are? Have they? Really?
Point 4 - Even if they did know which posters to look for, ahead of a crucial game like Sunderland, would they really trust the information wasn''t a red herring being deliberately leaked by the club, only to find a totally different lineup at 2pm?
Point 5 - What do the players do for the rest of the week, as clearly no-one in management bothers doing anything until they know the opposition team news?
Point 6 - How do teams with settled 11s that don''t normally change ever win games?
The whole thing is absolutely ridiculous. There are literally 25-30 people who post on the predicted lineup threads, but you all seem to think that opposition teams pay staff to sit on forums, seemingly for months on end ahead of the games to work out who, if anyone might have some inside info? Mental.

Sorry Kick-it-off but that is not the point.

Someone at the club gave out that confidential information to a poster on here. As you say that doesn''t matter even one tiny jot but the fact that some guy is prepared to blab off stuff like that to anyone who will listen is not professional. Who else is he telling?

Agree with that, but I was responding directly to a comment along the lines of "hope certain posters don''t ruin it by posting the teamsheet on Friday". The club employee is irrelevant to that discussion, although I agree with what you''re saying.

Point 7 - not all comments on the Pink Un should be taken at face value, even if not signposted with a handy winky emoticon.

Again, I''ll wager he isn''t in the squad at the weekend - the fact he hasn''t trained pretty much confirms this
