Redmond´s awful form

Recommended Posts

redmond is off form; but without him we have been toothless as those stepping in have not stepped up and added creativity - the contributions from howson, voo, wes, jarvis, tettey, oneil, dorrans are simply inadequate

Totally overated player , we should sell him now while he might still be worth something and use the money to buy two much needed strikers that actually know how to score .

Wouldn''t suprise me if Redderz is injured hence the dip in form.

If premier league safety is assured by March and he is injured it would be sensible to give him the rest of the season off (possible surgery) to give him enough time for pre season.

"What we ask is that he provides an attacking threat and makes good decisions re: crossing, dribbling, passing, shooting. He does not do this anywhere near enough for the hype he receives. Look at Jarvis or Howson, two players less physically gifted, for an example of good decision making."

Well he''s top scorer and joint second in the assists this season (albeit with 2).

Jarvis has been good, when fit, and is in his prime years. Howson, however, has come under a lot of criticism, until recently when he scored a wonder goal.

The stats mentioned above reflect that the whole team are under-performing, not just Redmond. I just think it''s harsh to single him out.

His lack of form/confidence could be due to injury...... maybe complications with contract negotiations or maybe because people are giving him abuse online and in the stands!

Odidja didn''t have a great game today, but although he doesn''t have the (alleged) pace of Redmond he seems to have been far more effective in the few games he has played.
This is not just based on today, as he only played half an hour or so, but even today you could see that Redmond is very far off his "normal" level (whatever that is).

He is being outrun, does not show much initiative in getting past his marker, no crosses (or poor crosses), etc.

Looks almost like his focus is elsewhere.

Imho, he has been pretty poor since September. Flashes now and then, but certainly nowhere enough to play for us week in, week out.
Or the immense possibility IS THAT THIS IS HIS REGULAR FORM. There''s a hell of a lot more evidence of that than the contrary.
