Yes the corner between the barclay and Jarrold will have a giant trojan horse style statue of Geoffrey Watling. This will be made of solid gold and stand 30ft high. It is hoped that during the game should a player get injured he can be replaced behind the ref''s back.

The opposition will be distracted by the site of those gleaming balls.

I believe the last the club said about expansion was that we would have to be an established top flight club to justify expansion. At the moment I think its about the right size for the league we''re in and for a couple of seasons in the Prem. We don''t want to end up like Leicester with a 30,000 seater with no way of filling it.

we should extend our stadium due to the demand for tickets even in the championship. we should develop a corner infil by the barclay and the new south stand.. it is clear people want tickets for games. It has even resoorted to ticket touts around the riverside!!

I think a Nice Hotel/Casino/Gym Combo in the Corner of the Barclay-South Stand. Just think...players will pick up their wages, then after the game, go to the casino and pump the money back into the Club! Win, Win situation!

I don''t think we should extend capacity anywhere because I think it is big enough for this league and would rather see that money spent on the team.

Does anyone like the corner of West Brom''s ground with a few seats in the corner, a big metal backdrop to cover the hole and a massive screen. That would look a brilliant at FCR. Need something to hold that atmosphere from the Barclay in and I think that would do it!

Thoughts?

No offence Jamie, but i thought that looked sh*te at the Hawthorns. Surely they could have outlayed a few more quid to have all those additional empty seats every couple of weeks.

Yes lets waste more money on infills and screens.

£2.5M from the Jarrold N&P infill would have bought us a striker or defender and a place in the Premier.  I would not have built the Jarrold stand either!  Portsmouth have not improved their ground and are still in the Prem, have we got our priorities wrong?

Portsmouth have a sugar-daddy who bankrolled them into the Premiership. They aren''t so reliant upon normal generated income that would come from gate receipts.

Clubs like NCFC who rely on business income need to increase revenues, gate receipts are very important for that. Increasing the capacity at Carrow Road increases our incomings, which combined with other activities (Delia''s catering business for example) have helped us stabalise our finances and transform us from a club needing to sell players, into a club that can buy players. If we want to be a stable Premiership club in this era when money is so important, the bigger the ground capacity the better. Obviously this can''t all happen at once, and balancing investing in the ground against investing in the squad is key.

Aresenal haven''t invested in the squad as much as they would like as they are building a new stadium with 60,000 capacity so they can raise their income, and compete financially with Man U and Chelsea. Charlton are increasing their ground capacity to 30,000 so they can compete for a top 6 place.

I think the board are getting the balance right, in the way Charlton did. We have extended the ground, whilst breaking club incoming transfer records with Ashton (and all the loans and Hucks/Leon etc the season before). Extending the ground is not a waste of money, its a financial necessity.

Errm no we haven''t. The old south stand had to be replaced, as it was a fire hazard. I believe the safety certificate was expiring and the amount of money needed to make changes to the stand was not viable. Plus there was a demand for tickets that the club could not meet. So what’s wrong with increasing the capacity and building a new stand?????

I think you need to realise where this club has come in the last ten years! I still remember going to 1st div games with 14/15,000 and less in some games! We now have a nice looking ground, stable management/board and a real chance of getting promoted.
