Relegation is not compulsory.

Recommended Posts

It is not a certainty and there is everything to play for.  Beat Villa on Saturday and if other three or four teams around us lose or draw, the situation will look a lot better.   Poor as it was, tonight was not a disgrace given the opposition and the circumstances of new players and illness in the camp.  Simply have to put the recent results behind us and realise we can still stay in this league. We''re not the only team under pressure near the bottom of the table.

Well said. Forget about tonight, Spurs were a class apart and will probably win the league at this rate. It''s all about the games against Villa, Sunderland, Newcastle etc. If we pull together and win them, we will stay up, it''s that simple.

Add to that key players in Redders and Wes rested, could just be a good move.

We should have Brady, Martin, Bennett and Klose all starting, with a fresh Redders, Wes and O''Neil and possibly Bamford, looking good for Villa!

Some was talking sense on canary call earlier, a rare occurrence I know, they were talking about AN''s identity as a manager. Basically because of the shift in focus since the beginning of the season he and the team are less certain. On the other hand Bournemouth and Swansea have stuck their guns and are know improving in the longer term perhaps.

On reflection tend to agree and it will be interesting to see how we react to this.

Our season starts on Sat so hopefully this is where players and management start earning those wages that us mere mortals can only dream about

Sorry LDC , but as stupid a comment as it may seem, for City it is compulsory, they are merely following a set pattern to the 2nd half of the Prem season that theyve trodden before. Under pressure? the City players dont know it, or they would have fire in their belly and give it their all. I wait for the game where they rekindle their zeal, play as a together unit, and run their butts off, maybe then it will become non compulsory. No disputing we are a yo yo club between Prem. and Champs, in common with quite a few other clubs, but its the total lack of zeal and fire in the 2nd half of Prem seasons that City suffer from thats disapointing.

It wasn''t inevitable in Lambert''s season, nor Hughton''s first season. We''ve only been relegated once from the premiership in three years, so if we stay up in two out of three years, maybe we''ll stay up this time.  But I agree about the players. They have to show they can keep us in this league.
