One tiny positive ...

Recommended Posts

Spurs were better than us all over the park. On present form I''d say they''re in the 3 top teams in the PL.

But, just for 15 minutes or so, we matched them. It was courtesy of sheer hard work, aggression & determination. We even scored an (offside) goal.

Somehow Neil has got to instill that level of mental & physical commitment into our players from the word go.

If we can do that we need fear no-one.

It''s doable, but Alex has got to supply some inspiration & remove the crippling self doubt that makes us give up before we''ve started.

Leicester, Watford, Bournemouth and others are teams who are better than the sum of their parts because they work.

If a player isn''t as good as his opponent then so be it but he has no excuse for not working as hard.

Earlier in the season, when we had Redmond, Brady, and Jerome pressing opposing players like crazy, snapping into tackles, etc. we

May have lose some of those games, but not because we didn''t play well enough or because we didn''t work hard enough. That was when the individual errors were all we had to worry about.

Not wishing to take anything away from any positives but.......

Sunderland were at home against a ''top three'' side last night and, by all accounts, matched City for a lot more than fifteen minutes. Joe Hart made some excellent saves, and a number of Sunderland''s new signings made very promising debuts.

A number of City players are really going to have to up their game if both Newcastle and Sunderland are to remain below us in the table.
