Pabs 0 Posted February 4, 2016 It is my first trip to Villa Park Saturday. I am going on train via New Street. Does anyone know a popular away pub?
havemyhowsonit 0 Posted February 4, 2016 Not a friendly pub for miles near the ground. No beer in the away end either. One of the biggest dumps I''ve been to is villa park
Herman 9,585 Posted February 4, 2016 The Barton Arms?
Pabs 0 Posted February 5, 2016 On away grounds guide it says the whitton arms is a nearby away fans pub. Also, if going by new street the Shakespeare just outside the station is popular with away fans. Just wondered where the majority may be? Re - above - it says beer on sale in lower tier but not upper...strange!
Crabbycanary3 994 Posted February 5, 2016 Is that right Pabs? I am in the Upper tier. Also coming in via New Street , but will have a mates 12 yr old with us, who might be a bit overwhelmed with a pub!
......and Smith must score. 1,311 Posted February 5, 2016 The Whitton Arms is the nearest pub to the ground but it''s a real dive.Last time I went there I had to pay a couple of quid to the gorillas on the door just to get in....
curious yellow 184 Posted February 5, 2016 Birmingham City are at home tomorrow also, this very rarely happens, so be very careful. I would try ang avoid centre.
curious yellow 184 Posted February 5, 2016 Rare that they play at home on the same day I mean.
TIL 1010 4,657 Posted February 5, 2016 The Whitton Arms is an absolute $hite hole. Avoid it like the plague.
Stone 0 Posted February 5, 2016 I''m also heading to Villa Park for the first time, and incorporating it with a night out with an old mate who lives in Brum (his recommendations of away fan pubs are few and far between!). A couple mentioned on here... http://www.awaygrounds.com/aston-villa-villa-park/There''s also a PEGIDA march in the City (plus another opposing it I assume). Could be chaos there tomorrow! curious yellow 184 Posted February 5, 2016 It gets worse- Milwall are at Walsall so their fans will be in Birmingham Centre and on some of the trains that go to Villa Park.
Mello Yello 2,265 Posted February 5, 2016 ''The Broken Arms'' near to Villa Park......Away fans aren''t welcome at all......But if you do decide to enter wearing away colours.......You will see where it gets its name from.....
Mello Yello 2,265 Posted February 5, 2016 Alternatively, you could always try to enter another pub that''s near to Villa Park that frowns upon away support......''The Fillum Inn''......You will also see where it gets its name from.....
