Villa Match Thread

Recommended Posts

I have been quietly confident we would stay up this season, and today''s game decides nothing. But going down is looking more likely week by week - poor poor performance against a team who have only won once at home all season FFS

Redmond should have started. Hoolahan just runs around in circles like a twat.

Our two holding midfielders would struggle to get into any championship sides
We need to do to Villa what Liverpool did to us second half a couple of weeks back. Fingers crossed...
You can honestly see that happening? Not a chance in hell,

Let''s be honest, there''s not a single combination of 11 players we have that is good enough. If it''s not one playing rubbish, it''s the other. I think Brady might be the only one that deserves to stay in this league. Utter useless.

Bizarrely, rather than trying to grind teasm down (like Hughton) and constantly going goals behind, AN could try putting out an attacking line up!

Mbokani might be a beast, but he''s not scoring goals. That''s what we need desperately. Lets start planning for Championship now.

No point sacking AN, there''s no guarantee anyone''s better

Seriously think Villa will finish above us now! Just given their whole team a massive boost! Can''t see us recovering our form with the current set up. I just have this overwhelming feeling of ''what might have been''!!

A long sojourn in the Champs beckons!
Naismith must be wondering what the hell he''s got himself involved in.....
Apparently he had the relegation clause removed before he signed up.

Smart guy.

If we lose to the worst team in the league then we can have no confidence in getting a win against any of the others as they are all better than Villa and it would seem ourselves.

This would be six defeats on the trot so AN must be coming under increasing pressure to show he has some ideas on how to stop the rot.

Sorry, did I say we *would* then, Al? Fingers crossed just means I live in hope.

It''s relatively simple. The majoroty of the players are not good enough at this level whether individually or as a team.  O''Neill''s miss sums it up. Now equal worst for goals conceded - that only ever means you will end up in bottom 3.  Similar to last time we were in the Premier when we looked OK but then dropped in to the zone and never got out again.  We are just doing a bit earlier this time!Oh well, more games next year and plent of evening matches, plus we should be towards the top end of the Championship!  Shame to miss ut on that £99million though.

Mulumbu..........O''Neil..........Dorrans........ Jarvis........Wisdom.......mid-table PL teams'' cast offs that add very little to the mix of flaky, inconsistent Championship standard players such as Martin, Redmond, Jerome, Bassong, Olsson, Whittaker, Howson and Ruddy......all bound by the ability to regularly surrender possession and produce an endless stream of mistakes..........

we need to set up and play to our strengths not the opposition, we need to play a balanced team with players in their correct positions not square pegs in round holes, which funnily enough is exactly what hughton did when we were relegated

This has become appalling! We needed to win this and instead we have just abjectivly surrendered and made Villa look a top six side!!

Effing disgusted!

Neil out!

Think we''ve reached a new level of uselessness twice in the space of a week. Time to start the planning for the championship.

Of the new signings, Klose looks average, Pinto looks a poor defender, Naismith looks alright bit not enough and Bamford hasn''t done much. I honestly don''t think we have enough quality there. Ferguson could be manager and we''d be doing no better.
