Relegation is not a foregone conclusion

Recommended Posts

Only 3 points between us & Swansea and 4 points between us & Bournemouth.12 games to play and 36 points up for grabs so it''s far too early to write us off.No need to throw the towel in yet.

First off, I want AN as our manager for many years. However, regarding your post, It''s just a matter of where/how we will gain points. We leak goals for fun, we can''t keep a lead to save our lives. We have a lack of goals in the team too. Jerome and Mbokani barely ever score.

If we are to survive we need more goals from Naismith, Hoolahan, Brady and hopefully Bamford. We won''t keep many teams out so we need to be capable of goals.

I think we will go down but hope by the time we''re in this league again in years to come, we learn how to cope at this level, both as a team and as a club, otherwise we may as well just stay in the Championship.

Sadly, 1 point from a possible 21 is relegation form, regardless of what other teams are doing. There''s still a chance of staying up. But this group of players seems determined not to take it.

Part of the issue is having a group of players who''ve, for the most part, already failed at this level in the recent past. If relegated this season, this will be Bassong''s 4th relegation in 7/8 seasons.

Making plans, of course its not 100% certain until the maths make it impossible to stay up, but oh yes it is a foregone conclusion. Its a nailed on certainty, we are bottom 3 and thats where we will stay another 3 long months.

Have you checked the table recently?

I''d say there''s about a 2/3 chance of us going dow. Don''t think Villa will make it and that leaves us, Newcastle and Sunderland for the remaining spots. Although it will be interesting to see how Swansea do in the next couple of games.

Here''s a huge IF. If we beat Swansea Newcastle and Sunderland we would need to find about four or five more points from somewhere else. It''s going to be interesting

Yeah the doom and gloom merchants are probably sad we''re out of the bottom 3.
Glass half full, it''s a point more than we''ve managed in the last few games and we scored a couple of goals and always looked to carry a threat. Just the same old concentration/bottle going when we had it in our grasp.
We''re not down yet, but it''s going to be close!

[/quote]In the bottom 3 & staying in the bottom 3 for 3 long months? You need to get your facts right. We weren''t in the bottom 3 at the time you posted and we are not in the bottom 3 now.As I said, relegation is not a foregone conclusion - that is of course you can''t add up & do the maths
