Some things change, some don't.

Chris Hughton in his pre-match televison interview today.

When asked about his strategy at Burnley today he said, with words to the effect:

"There''s no point in being too defensive or going there to just contain."

Eh Chris?

Anyhow, well done the Hoots for your apparent metamorphosis into an attacking manager at Brighton, where he plays four, four, two. It must be the South Coast air.

Simon Hooper is the ref. and it''s taken him just five minutes to make his mark with a highly controversial penalty decision against the Seagulls.

I get a nose bleed at the very sight of that man, but at least he now seems to be restricted to just Championship games.

Brighton have won 9 games and drawn 7, with no losses. Their Goal Difference is +9. By my calculations, that means that they have won every game by a single goal.

Also, 21 goals scored in 16 matches-not exactly throwing caution to the wind!

I was referring to his statement rather than his statistics, which are impressive nevertheless.

The only previous time I have seen a Brighton game this season was that on Sky against pswich Town. They were pretty attacking then with three goals in a show that, on occasions, ripped the pauper''s static defence to shreds.

Perhaps he has found that correct balance which always seemed to elude him at Carrow Road.
