A predictable loss - Norwich poor at poor teams

Recommended Posts

Well, we have seen it before. When you need a performance, away, at a fellow shite team, Norwich fail to deliver. It is a rollover. Bassong having a nightmare, AN constantly chosing the wrong players (Tettey, Howson, Grabban, Dorrans), and we get what we deserve. Nothing.

For me, bringing Tettey back for this game was a bit strange. He is rash, always got a yellow in him, and needlessly gave away the penalty. It is typical Tettey to make a mess out our own throwin, and then concede a penalty. Reckless, and poor. A calmer head, like O´Neil, would likely have been better. Mulumbu too.

The gameplan today, what was it? Long lumps to Grabban? Howson´s "Wes-role", he was completely invisible, yet kept on the pitch for 60-70 mins, etc.

Yes, AN is let down by his players, but he should also set his team up with a chance of actually getting something from the game.

Big game vs Everton now, and if Wes is not available, we are pretty much doomed. No creativity, no interplay, no triangles or stretching teams.

Without Wes we are pretty square, passing the ball back and forth between the defenders, ending in a long lump from Bassong or Bennett towards the striker, losing the ball.

It is all too predictable, as we have seen it before, for so many years.

Players like Dorrans, Howson are certainly not good enough to be playing CM in the Premier in their present form. They need to be dropped, and hopefully will.

A little nit picking but Watford aren''t a poor team. They are a good team and we needed to play a high standard to get anything out of them. Unfortunately we were dreadful from start to end and handed them victory on a plate.

Simply nothing different than Houghton era this days our display.

Bass was shocking and 1 shoot on target for 97 minute...

Need new boost by fresh players or better game plan but with this form and 1 win in 10 no way to be here next season imo.

Well...it is worrying when AN sets us up with more emphasis on Watford´s strengths than play on our own.

That is a negative outlook, and was probably correct against Man C, Chelsea and Arsenal, but he did the same also against Swansea, in a game we did not play very well, but won.

So, when he does it AGAIN, against a side we should see us at least on par with, it breeds a underdog feeling in every game.

Now, his hands may have been tied with Wes injured, but still, playing Howson, clearly off form for 2 months now, is such a waste. He was a passenger, also in this game, as he has been in the last 5-6-7 games.

Yes, AN has not got the best material to play with, but is Watford a better team than us? I doubt that, but they certainly seem to have a better game plan, and are getting more out of their squad.

More importantly, they got the right players in the right areas.

If you look at the differences between Grabban and Ighalo, you can easily see that Ighalo offers much more, harassing, probing, running, etc.

We dont have players to do it, and it is a travesty that the transfer window this summer did not produce better deals.

January will be very important, as 5-6 changes is needed to the squad.

It''s fairly easy to make your tactics against the big 4 or 5 to get everyone behind the ball.

Against the rest of the league you''ve got to have a few more ideas. At the moment AN doesn''t appear to have many.
