Perfect fa cup draw

Recommended Posts

A big game that we can put out a few different players.

A cup run this season is an added distraction and man city at home is perfect.

Again league cup is the cup run you should aim for.

Why is it?

We''ve won it twice and appeared in two other finals. We''ve never even got to the F A Cup final. Surely this is the cup we should aim for?

Heart raised when we were at home, then sank all the way to China when we were followed out the draw by Man City...

A shame, but is it me or does there seem to be a surprising number of all Prem ties this year in the 3rd round?!

Ah well, at least we can concentrate on the league, I suppose.

I like to look at the positives, FA cup out of the way early. All efforts concentrated on survival.[:D]

no its not.

A a good run would give new faces chance to bed in ,also give a couple of youngster a chance.

B we would make money.

C its the only chance we have left of winning anything

and at my age (74 ) I am running out of time to win the cup

There is one point about this draw. We are scheduled to play Man City at home in the league on March 12, but that is also the weekend for the sixth round of the FA Cup. By drawing them for the third round by definition at least one team will be bound to be available for that league match.

Well its not everything to me. In my lifetime I''ve seen us promoted to the top league 7 times and relegated from it 6 times. I''ve never seen us in an FA Cup final.

I''m with you all the way Kiddie. And imagine how you''d feel if you were Tilly''s age....

I remember you telling me how that white Police horse stood trod on your foot at the 1923 Cup Final so don''t give me all that nonsense.

I''ve just happened to notice a club like Everton and their amazing fortunes in cup draws. Very often home games, and very often against really poor opposition.

And if they are ever drawn away, it is also against shite opposition.

Still..a cup run will probably never be the priority of AN before we have become a reasonably stable Premier side.

I would expect the teams languishing just under the CL places to be going for the cups.

Tottenham, West Ham, Everton, these kind of teams. Also Leicester, even though they are doing extremely well in the league. A shame then, seeing Tottenham face Leicester.

Typical, some people having fun reminiscing about the 1923 cup final and Grefstad pitches up with his boring enlightenment. [:)]

Perfect opportunity for those not selected every week to show what they can do.  The Everton away match in the cup showed what they can do and the likes of Odidja and Lafferty, E Bennett if he is back, etc can gain some experience and ground against a top club.  Great opportunity and a win in that game would set us up for a good cup run.

Does anyone else find it odd that both us and Ipswich are at home on the same day for the cup game yet we''re not allowed to both play at home for league games??
