smooth 114 Posted December 7, 2015 A big game that we can put out a few different players.A cup run this season is an added distraction and man city at home is perfect.Again league cup is the cup run you should aim for.
nutty nigel 7,968 Posted December 7, 2015 Why is it? We''ve won it twice and appeared in two other finals. We''ve never even got to the F A Cup final. Surely this is the cup we should aim for?
im spartacus canary 0 Posted December 7, 2015 I''d love to get to the final just for the bleating about ticket allocation 😂
nutty nigel 7,968 Posted December 7, 2015 That would be utter meltdown Sparto. I doubt we''d get enough for season ticket holders to get one each....
AJ 1,381 Posted December 8, 2015 Heart raised when we were at home, then sank all the way to China when we were followed out the draw by Man City...A shame, but is it me or does there seem to be a surprising number of all Prem ties this year in the 3rd round?!Ah well, at least we can concentrate on the league, I suppose. ricardo 8,137 Posted December 8, 2015 I like to look at the positives, FA cup out of the way early. All efforts concentrated on survival.[:D]
Kidderminster Exile 0 Posted December 8, 2015 no its not.A a good run would give new faces chance to bed in ,also give a couple of youngster a chance.B we would make money.C its the only chance we have left of winning anythingand at my age (74 ) I am running out of time to win the cup
nutty nigel 7,968 Posted December 8, 2015 I''m with you all the way Kiddie. And imagine how you''d feel if you were Tilly''s age....
PurpleCanary 6,470 Posted December 8, 2015 There is one point about this draw. We are scheduled to play Man City at home in the league on March 12, but that is also the weekend for the sixth round of the FA Cup. By drawing them for the third round by definition at least one team will be bound to be available for that league match.
Van wink 2,994 Posted December 8, 2015 If we play ourselves we may get the 3 points.
Mind the gap 12 Posted December 8, 2015 We don''t need this distraction. Survival is everything
nutty nigel 7,968 Posted December 8, 2015 Well its not everything to me. In my lifetime I''ve seen us promoted to the top league 7 times and relegated from it 6 times. I''ve never seen us in an FA Cup final.
Prince of Darkness 0 Posted December 8, 2015 Normally against the big boys in the cup you would go into the tie with hope of an upset. On this occasion I am just going for my pie

grefstad 0 Posted December 9, 2015 I''ve just happened to notice a club like Everton and their amazing fortunes in cup draws. Very often home games, and very often against really poor opposition. And if they are ever drawn away, it is also against shite opposition.Still..a cup run will probably never be the priority of AN before we have become a reasonably stable Premier side. I would expect the teams languishing just under the CL places to be going for the cups.Tottenham, West Ham, Everton, these kind of teams. Also Leicester, even though they are doing extremely well in the league. A shame then, seeing Tottenham face Leicester.
TCCANARY 263 Posted December 9, 2015 Typical, some people having fun reminiscing about the 1923 cup final and Grefstad pitches up with his boring enlightenment. [:)]
lake district canary 4,883 Posted December 9, 2015 Perfect opportunity for those not selected every week to show what they can do. The Everton away match in the cup showed what they can do and the likes of Odidja and Lafferty, E Bennett if he is back, etc can gain some experience and ground against a top club. Great opportunity and a win in that game would set us up for a good cup run.
ca 1 Posted December 11, 2015 Does anyone else find it odd that both us and Ipswich are at home on the same day for the cup game yet we''re not allowed to both play at home for league games??
