Rays Funds for the CSF with the Pink un Pickers Week 22

Recommended Posts

Welcome to week twenty two of

our Rays Funds season. Now I’m a great believer in family and our Rays Funds

community is a family of sort which is part of the bigger family of Norwich

City supporters. Those of us fortunate enough to have a close personal family

always feel blessed at this time of year and particularly so when we are all

part of the same football family! So I think it fitting that we have one such

family in charge the New Year picks. This is the first time we’ve had a

mother/daughter team in charge and making the final selections and I love it!

Tilly will be beside himself though…..

In charge of the final six matches

this weekend we have Mandie Moo. Mandie’s been a brilliant supporter of Rays Funds

with her picks, final selections and in person at our various events. Mandie is

a great supporter of our wonderful DS boys and girls and loves to watch them

play. She also was part of the presentation group which invaded the pich last

March as well as previous presentations at Colney. It was an honour to spend

our Wembley day with Mandie, Nigel, Lyndsay and Ben. It was agreat day that I’ll

never forget. Mandie’s a two time winner of the final selections so let’s give

her some great ammunition to get a personal hat-trick from the games played on

Sat/Sun/Mon of this weekend that are listed on the William Hill or Bet 365 web

sites.

Diesel Doris is

making the Norwich selections for the game against Southampton. Diesel’s also been

a great supporter and top picker of Rays Funds ever since she joined in 2009. I

first met Trish and Mandie when they came to a PUPs meet at Bayer Club and

since have met many more of her wonderful family with whom I’ve shared good

times and proud to have them as friends. Trish, you have a tenner to spend anyway

you like from the suggestions made by the PUPs and your own.

2015 has been a

fantastic year for us City fans and particularly us PUPs. I just checked back

and we have raised £1372 during this

calendar year for our wonderful Downes Syndrome boys and girls. So thank you

all for being so brilliant in 2015 and I’d like to wish you all a really great

2016!

Now I’ll hand the thread over to Mandie Moo and diesel Doris. Remember

theres no pressure because we are

all going to be doing our best to help you to success. We all stand together

with the single aim of raising money for the Community Sports Foundation.

Good luck all you PUPs... take it away Mandie and Trish ... the thread

is yours....... [:)].........

Right, think I''ll lead the honourable line this week...personal and collective need for a win, so bit of a shameless banker this week (though think the odds on a draw are rather shorter than they should be..)

TNS vs Newtown - Home win 1/4

As for the Norwich bet I think our boy Mbokani might just have a hot spell, so I''d like to back him to score..

Big game Saturday, wonderful chance to really establish a platform to safety....have a few sherries and raise the roof....

Parma 🎄🎄💰💰😘😘😘🎉🎉🍝🍝🍝😻😻

Reading vs Bristol City, home win (currently 10/11).Reading have recently reinstalled Brian McDermott to the manager''s hotseat following Steve Clarke''s dismissal. I saw them get beaten at home by a very good Brentford side a couple of days ago, but for long periods they were on top, played some good stuff and scored a very good goal. The two goals they conceded were crackers. If you look at Bristol City''s away games then you can only pick out a 1-0 win against Middlesbrough in August and a 2-2 draw against Ipswich as good results.Reading''s home record doesn''t look too bad and shows that they''re capable of beating a much higher level of opposition than Bristol City, eg sides like Middlesborough and Ipswich. At home Reading have a 15/9 goals for/against record, Bristol City have 9/23. City''s last two away games were 4-0 thumpings at Derby and Burnley. This is a very reasonable shout if you''re looking for something with higher odds, and I expect that McDermott will be going all out for a win.My own judgement suggests that Reading have a far greater chance of winning than the 52.4% implied by the odds. I think they''re at least capable of a 2-0 win.

For the Norwich bet I wrote the following on Monday on another thread :-
I had a bet on West Ham v Southampton today,

going for under 3.5 goals (it finished 2-1). My reasoning was that

Southampton have a very poor goals record away from home, and West Ham

have generally had trouble scoring. So I''d look at making the

same bet [at 2/7], and possibly back a Norwich win or draw at 7/10 [now 4/6]. Southampton

are no pushovers, so I''d tend to view the game as being a hard fought

1-1.
I not expecting a 0-0 or a 2-0 Norwich win, and both teams don''t seem capable of scoring more than 2. Therefore betting on the following range of results from 1-0 to 2-2 should return at least £1 :-0-1    7/11-0    9/11-1    11/20-2    11/11-2    9/12-1    12/12-2    16/1Good luck Diesel Doris and Mandie Moo.

In the spirit of Christmas and the New Year, plus a bit of support for Mandie Moo and Diesel Doris, I''ll add £20 to the pot if Mbokani scores and Norwich win...in fact I''ll send £20 if Norwich win.....

Thinking about it, an early season pledge was for £20 if Robbie Brady scored a direct free kick, so if that happened combined with a Norwich win i''ll send £100...

Happy New Year!!

Hi PUPs I''ll go to the Coupe de France with Monaco vs. JS St Jean Beaulieu (home win).

For the City bet I''ll go for Ryan Bennett to score (my choice for the third game running) and if he does I''ll stick an addtional £20 in the pot.

Best of luck everyone and here''s wishing you all a healthy and prosperous 2016!

Good luck everybody, and a happy new year to all PUPs.I''m going for an away win in the Portuguese Primeira Liga game between Guimaraes and Benfica, odds should be around 8/15.For the City game, I think Mbokani to score at any time is a decent bet - modest returns, but if he gets a chance I fancy him to bury it.

Great pledges Parma and Cityangel. I''d love them to happen thank you both.

I''m struggling again this season and am now in the minuses. But I have hopes of a value home win this weekend for Leeds against Josh Murphy''s MKDons. I feel bad for selecting against Josh but Leeds have had some decent results lately and I think they''ll make their home advantage count.

Leeds          v          MK Dons          Home win.

For our gamer against Southampton I''m siding with Ryan Bennett to score anytime.
