CanaryOne 0 Posted January 10, 2016 Afobe is a risk no doubt about that but i would have rather took that risk than stick with the strikers we have now who all seem to be goal shy .We have tried the cheap and cheerful approach many times and we always end up relegated . Herman 9,717 Posted January 10, 2016 Actually, last time we went down the expensive route and got relegated. That''s the last time the club listens to you lot.

Mooney 0 Posted January 10, 2016 The market shows you must pay for top quality and top quality gets you points. We clearly need to be spending £15 million + and 3 million wages per year to secure the top talent which will make a change. Otherwise we have to take a gamble on talent like Afobe or Gray at Leicester.Saying that however we have done really well so far and Alex Neil is brilliant. I think we are all just worried we don''t quite have the quality to ensure safety rather than dice with it.

I mean that''s not exceptional but it''s pretty darn good considering what''s come before (outside of Holt). If we stay up I wouldn''t mind him hanging around next year, if we don''t he''s definitely not coming back to play in the Champ.
Essjayess 307 Posted January 10, 2016 Such a ridiculous amount of nonsense within all the 2 or 3 topics on Afobe / Bournemouth, and also on City and the spending of money for transfers. Muff and Watford both have some excellent players, but like us they dont have a single World class player between them. Messi is world class. In the UK Ageuro is probably that to.Fact is that true world class players are very few around the globe. Afobe was clearly our main summer. But 6 months later no way. If he was, City wouldave been straight in there on 2nd January. Indeed the whole first week of the window Jackett said no offers had been incoming for the guy. Eddie Howe made a very fast move around the 8th after a series of pre events, which may or may not have kicked of with Lord Snooty. That could be bull, but if you wanna know more check Molinuex Mix the Wolves forum.Quite a few posters here are moaning about how City never seem to sign costly transfer guys, always comparing City to Muff and Watford, but why? you cannot compare, simple because those clubs have much bigger assets behind them than City. For goodness sake, concentrate on City alone, and get realistic. All City fans should have decent knowledge after all these years that City have constraints and rightly buy and pay wages according to what we can afford. Having said that, none of us know what will happen from now till Feb. 1st, if you enjoy a good moan as i do, wait until after that time, not now.

Mooney 0 Posted January 10, 2016 jaemae2 I agree. Mbokani has looked excellent. So good at holding up the ball and bringing other players into it. With him at 9 and Naismith at 10 we would have a tidy attack.

Samwam27 519 Posted January 10, 2016 Good luck to Bournemouth. They''ve gone out and got their man quickly. And the fact of the matter is they''ve bagged him.The concern for most NCFC fans is norwich always struggle attracting players, and then struggle with the negotiations (look at Brady, a main target but our offering peanuts nearly cost us that transfer)We hope AN has got targets. He''s said he''s after more firepower, but therein lies the conundrum. We don''t know who, we do''t know how much, and the longer the xfer market goes on, the more luck comes into it whether you get your man, or others come into the fray!AN said he wanted to get his xfers tied up quickly. We''ve got Pinto but have no idea who or how much other targets are, and the clock is slowly ticking by. Let''s hope we don;t go to another deadline day just to be told things "outside our control" intervened in scuppering xfers!
Fuzzar 1,702 Posted January 10, 2016 I like the way you''re prepared to be generous with other people''s money CanaryOne. Doubt you would be if you were putting your hand in your pocket.

Branston Pickle 3,638 Posted January 12, 2016 The problem for Boremouth is that they''ve signed two players who score 1 in every 3-4 chances, and spent c£18m doing so.Someone should really let Eddie Howe know that the other end of the the pitch is pretty crucial, they''ve shipped 37 in 21 and only seem to be signing strikers and wingers.
sonyc 5,492 Posted January 12, 2016 Agree with that Branston. Afobe looked to be trying too hard as well. He has a few years though to mature into a decent player. Think Grabbans best days are behind him. Will Wait to see
Feedthewolf 4,844 Posted January 12, 2016 They''re essentially a clean-shaven version of Holloway''s Blackpool, just with a Russian sugar daddy bankrolling them. Really hope they tippy-tap their way back to the Championship with a colossal black hole in their finances.
AJ 1,218 Posted January 12, 2016 Dream debut for us, the longer it takes to get his first goal the more pressure it builds on him and Bournemouth.
Boris 56 Posted January 12, 2016 Afobe and Grabban for 20 mil is big joke but is not that big risk for them as they both should be quite decent if they relegated in Championship if not they easy will have cash to upgrade them.Nightmare should be Grabban to score next round Im almost sure he should start and chance to score is big imo.
