Essjayess 307 Posted January 6, 2016 From what the archant writers said in the City debate recently, about Ranocchia not even being on Citys list of targets, to how Parma explains things, to how Italian media outlets use our clubs name to link so many Italian footballers to us, it seems clear that the vast majority of Italian reports using our clubs name are just blown up in a huge way, maybe a simple request or asking for a piece of info is exagerrated so as to appear City really do want this or that guy. In essence we are being used, often for inhouse Italian domestic reasons. All the more reason for City to avoid Italy inside and outside of transfer windows imo. grefstad 0 Posted January 6, 2016 Little ol'' Norwich being used by agents, media, and players to boost their wages at their present club, or to engineer a move by kicking up a bit of interest and fuss. Happens again and again.Regardin Ranocchia, I think we could do better with a quicker defender than him. Pinto is a quick defender, and I would be surprised if AN wants to buy a CB known for lacking pace, espescially when knowing AN prefers, by heart, to play a high press passing game with a high backline. A Load of Squit 5,121 Posted January 6, 2016 This is all a bit of a puzzle, on the Naismith thread it was
However much you try to convince yourself about the excellence of Norwich as a city, or area, the fact is that it is seen as a backwater. Which is also probably is, compared to other parts of England."Nice place to live" counts for nothing for a flashy young baller who wants to live life to the full, drive fancy cars and shag golddiggers. A big back yard with a fecking apple three is not what these guys want. They want city life, and a fat paycheck. In Norwich they get little of both.
on this one we''re being used as leverage? Guest Posted January 6, 2016 Do you think that all footballers are "ballers" Grefstad? I would suggest that''s probably a massive generalisation.
Essjayess 307 Posted January 6, 2016 Maybe after alls said and done, despite him being an Inter guy, despite him playing for Italy, despite Klopp maybe getting him in as a panic measure for so many injured Pool Defenders, despite all that, maybe those Inter fans and lots of other Italian fans verdict on Rano do really apply...that hes crap.Until the day we find another CB, likely in either Uzbekistan or Alloa Athletic, we still have Ryan B, and a steadier CB than him right now would be hard to find. Robert Barnes 19 Posted January 7, 2016 Liverpool have him on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy in summer transfer for 8 million that''s what''s being reported on sky here in Canada
Indy 3,283 Posted January 7, 2016 That''s fair enough, can''t compete with the big boys and if Klopp wanted him then it''s good that we tried for a player in high regard. We move on
firststeps 0 Posted January 7, 2016 Good, put this to bed. Big gamble on an unproven player in the English game. Liverpool doing it correctly.
Thirsty Lizard 3,155 Posted January 31, 2017 Bumped this because it was a long thread from last year''s transfer window. And because Ranocchia has gone to Hull on loan today. Be interesting to see if he''s any good for them.
