How Many Nationalities Have Played For Us?

Nationality is a legal issue so you nationality is determined by which country you are registered in/with, there are ways that you can change you nationality but this is done by following the requirements of the country you want to change to.

[quote user="GJL Mid-Norfolk Canary"]here''s an obscure one......Simon Charlton, Sealand

Haha. Good find! I spoke to the manager of Sealand about making a documentary about them but it never took off.

I didn''t know Charlton had played for them.

I may have to withdraw my Ged Brannan / Cayman Islands claim,

many years ago the Cayman Islands approached a number of players from the British Isles ,includimg Brannan, to play for them in a World Cup qualifier under the pretence that as a British soverign dependence nation,British passport holders were eligible to play for them,.

It appears FIFA caught wind of this and blocked it before it happened....so despite being called up, Brannan never actually played for them.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ged_Brannan

I''m still presing my Simon Charlton / Sealand claim though..........he did pay for them in a recognised international friendly ?!.......

Fair enough, we''ll remove Brannan then.

As for Sealand, I have spoken to the manager of Sealand as my friend plays for them. They are mostly a bunch of mates that have no connection to Sealand, but just saw an opportunity to play ''international'' football by representing a self-proclaimed country. I think the way to qualify to play for Sealand is to have a beer with their manager.

Charlton may have played for them, but it in no way means he is a ''national'' of the country. It''s a bit of a gimmick really. A great find though!

If this was "Pointless" the answer would be Tuvalo. Surely we have had a player from there? Is there a military hospital? Anything ?

"Surely Timm Klose for Germany unless we''re actually waiting for him to make an appearance for us before he''s included?"

Nope: we''d be waiting for him to change his Swiss nationality to German. Which, given Swiss patriotism (and income tax rates), may be a long wait!

Is this just first team players? Only I think I''ve seen other nationalities in the Youth Team players listed in the Football Manager game over the past years-can''t be bothered to look now but might check it out some time this weekend.

Born in Germany with dual Swiss/German citizenship. At least according to wiki which we all know is the most accurate of sources.

Percy Varco was Cornish and Mebyon Kernow maintain Cornwall is a nation state.

In fact, in some cases, you are allowed to put Cornish on application forms.

In the case of children born to British forces while serving abroad,

regardless of what country they are born in, the child is a British

Citizen and passport holder. They have no right to any kind of dual

nationality. If British forces children born in Germany, for

example, weren''t given British citizenship, then they would be required

to carry out national service in the German military.

This also covers Keven Keelan  who was born in British India where his father was serving in the Army.
