Budgie 0 Posted July 12, 2005 I''m fed up with opening the paper and hearing that so-and-so player will definitely be on his way!The latest is Francis''s agent, who says that the ''free-scoring midfielder'' is almost certainly moving to Portsmouth before the season starts.Who made an agent a press secretary? And just what should his role be?Okay, they appear to be a necessary evil in today''s game and to a large extent have to take some of the blame for the inflated transfer figures and wages we are now seeing. But at the end of the day, they also have a pecuniary interest in that they are in on a cut. So as far as I am concerned they should quietly get on representing someone who is not man enough to negotiate his own terms and conditions and keep his gob shut. And does it seem somewhat strange to you that Francis''s agent should align himself with the Portsmouth tactic of trying to unsettle a Norwich player? It all smells a bit to me.
