I notice they have had an American billionaire buy a 25 per cent stake in them.

We are going to be left behind unless we get some serious investment behind us.

It is starting to worry me.

Am particularly interested in LDC and Morty''s views

You have to question why a Chicago based investment firm is interested in getting involved. The fact they tried a takeover of Reading in 2014 kinda leads you to suspect its purely business.

Ain''t no billionaire philanthropist bought them it''s an investment firm. They tend to want to make money back not pour it down the drain on football which is what normally happens when you buy a club. I wouldn''t worry about us getting left behind them anytime soon. Unless of course they fly in a ready made 40,000 seat stadium to replace theirs, find enough fans to fill it and sign Messi in January. I may have a little worry then.

Anybody know how much this 25% stake amounts to and is it money to be spent or does it go to their Russian owner ?
Anybody know how much this 25% stake amounts to and is it money to be spent or does it go to their Russian owner ?
A year ago it was reported that Bournemouth''s share capital amounted to £9.4m, so (assuming these are existing shares and not new ones) 25 per cent of that would be around £2.35m, which is not a lot. But then Bournemouth are, as far as I am aware, not listed on a stock market, so they can alter the share price unilaterally, as we did a couple of years or so ago, raising it from £30 to £100. So this American group may well have paid a great deal more than £2.3m, especially as all the reports indicate this investment will be used to help fund transfers.
