Team re-building - problems?

If Jonson goes, we shall clearly have either a squad too small to sustain injuries or a larger squad that will take a while to adjust to each other.

Worthy may keep his "core" of players - Ashton, Huckerby, McKenzie, (? Francis), Shackle,(? Green), but half the team will be newcomers or players like Henderson/Jarvis with little experience. If all those leaving, or who could leave, are replaced we would have to find up to ten players. Our squad last season was too small in any case!

In the absence of some new players of real ability, you have to wonder where we shall be come November.

So far we have added three squad players and apparently been rebuffed in one or two approaches, but time is passing and many possible targets have signed elsewhere. We are now into pre-season friendlies and ....

We learned last year that last-minute panic buys don''t work well - they''re available because nobody else wants them, or they''re overpriced.

Most of us are surely wanting some sign of replacing the many who will have left. We have to acknowledge that the uncertainty surrounding Green and Francis in particular has left Worthy unsure how much money he will have and what positions need to be filled. I just hope that he will be able to resolve the Green/Francis positions soon and then acquire players early enough to play pre-season and slot in as soon as we start serious games.

I really think its

time to panic now Salopian, players have to ''bed down'' before the seasons starts.

If the money is not there, then we should be told!.

i doubt worthy would sell him if he didnt mean to bring in anyone else. At least thats what iv made myself hope for
