Molly Windley 76 Posted September 13, 2015 Really unlucky Jellytot, nobody could have known that Juve planned to rest half their first team for the Champions League game midweek and that their pitch looked more suitable for rugby than football.

nutty nigel 7,530 Posted September 13, 2015 Good spots Molly. I always think these CL games can make it doubly hard to pick teams early season. But I would have thought Juve would have targeted the league game as they are yet to win. It was unlucky and that''s why when lady luck is with us the resulting win belongs to us all.4/6 to win either half was a terrific spot Molly. I''ll update Rays signature and the totals first chance I get.

For those with long memories it was probably worse than the penalty Leeds got when Tony Yeboah decided to fall over that consigned us to relegation in 1995. nutty nigel 7,530 Posted September 13, 2015 I saw that Purple. That''s one of the reasons I''malways more confident of a late "saving of our bacon" when one of thebig clubs is involved. I think thats what I meant yesterday at h/t when Jellytot was worried with Bayern losing and I said the big clubs usually find a way to win...
Leedscanary 337 Posted September 13, 2015 Gutted for you Helen. I was shellshocked when I arrived home to check the result and seen the Old Lady had let us down. However, it was great to see you and everyone else in The Nelson after the game where we had a bit of fun with Tilly and presented well deserved awards to Lappinitup and Twidio. For those who didn''t make it the awards for Tilly and Lapp were for coming first in the Pups league and Profitability league respectively and Twidio was presented a Special Award for being the youngest ever successful picker of the Final Six.Leedscanary
nutty nigel 7,530 Posted September 13, 2015 Also for those who weren''t there Leeds Canary once again provided the trophies for us. Kev, you''re an absolute diamond buddy, and you epitomise everything that Ray envisaged when he started this community. Hope this picture comes out ok. I have trouble transferring pictures from Facebook onto this forum : -   Twidio and Lapp had no idea they were receiving trophies and it was great to see their smiles. nutty nigel 7,530 Posted September 14, 2015 The fault with the photo is put right if you press reply and look at the preview. I''m not sure what the problem is with photos but I''ll try and get it sorted for Wednesday. I''m still gutted for Jellytot. But it was a good weekend for the stats. 54 PUPs picked with 46 (85%) winning. Between us we suggested 31 outcomes from which 24 (77%) won. Jellytot''s 5/6 was 83% and it was pure bad luck that the fancied Juve stopped her. That''s the second week after Parma''s unlucky 5/6 the week before. We will be winning again soon when lady luck is kinder to us. Clare got "pick of the week" this time for her selection of Brighton at 1.55. There are now just three PUPs with perfect records remaining with Yankee leading the way. Here''s the league table showing those with at least 50% correct from at least half the available weeks : - PUP Wins Picks Win% Profitability Yankee 6 6 100% 2.750 Cosmic Twin 6 6 100% 2.120 CD Mullins 6 6 100% 1.900 Hector Brockelbank 5 5 100% 2.120 Parma ham''s gone mouldy 5 5 100% 2.051 Norfolkbroadslim 5 5 100% 1.700 Crabbycanary 4 4 100% 2.510 Vanwink 3 3 100% 1.890 Beauseant 3 3 100% 1.550 AJ 5 6 83% 3.660 Duncan Edwards 5 6 83% 2.530 jb 5 6 83% 2.020 nutty nigel 5 6 83% 1.850 Chellecity 5 6 83% 1.740 GMF 5 6 83% 1.600 Yellowfuture 5 6 83% 1.550 Lake District Canary 5 6 83% 1.400 Mr Apples 5 6 83% 1.190 Herman 5 6 83% 0.881 Vindo 5 6 83% 0.730 Trent Canary 5 6 83% 0.710 Purple Canary 5 6 83% 0.610 Kathy 4 5 80% 2.340 Norfolkchance1 4 5 80% 2.260 City-til-I-die 4 5 80% 1.930 Jellytot 4 5 80% 1.780 ClareW 3 4 75% 2.77 Snake Eyes 3 4 75% 1.93 Feedthewolf 4 6 67% 1.93 Mr Angry 4 6 67% 1.45 DDD 4 6 67% 1.31 Redders Right Foot 4 6 67% 1.23 Cityangel 4 6 67% 0.89 Bor Bor Bor 4 6 67% 0.44 Lessingham Canary 4 6 67% 0.28 Swindoncanary 4 6 67% 0.05 Mandie Moo''s Mear Kat 4 6 67% 0 Leedscanary 4 6 67% -0.24 Til1010 4 6 67% -0.25 Statto28 4 6 67% -0.32 Mandie Moo 4 6 0.67 -1.42 Hammond 2 3 0.67 1.31 Twidio 3 5 0.6 -0.63 The Great Drinkell 3 6 0.5 1.51 Lappinitup 3 6 0.5 0.05 Hissing Sid 3 6 0.5 -0.28 Molly Windley 3 6 0.5 -0.35 Graham Humphrey 3 6 0.5 -0.87 Diesel Doris 3 6 0.5 -1.42 First Wazzock 2 4 0.5 0.35 Inchy 2 4 0.5 0.15 AJ still leads the profitability table.
