The boards ineptitude will cost us.

Recommended Posts

failed the manager and fans in the transfer window by failing to bring in the players that were needed. Any number of them could be dropped for the next match but Neil''s hands are tied with the defence. The boards failure to strengthen there is now costing us. 20 goals in 9 matches and no serious options to change it.

Spot on. This is exactly it. Same last time we were here. It''s just nice to be here. Little old Norwich.

Lol. You lot have had to wait 9 months for this. People have babies quicker.

Could be worse. We could have hired Lennon....

There was a point under Hughton when he beat spurs that Lennon was in line but there is no need to revisit that and with hindsight it looks like a blessing we didn''t. do you believe that Neil said to the board don''t worry about strengthening a defence that at championship level was bang average, I''m sure they can make the step up? The board failed him and have left his hands tied with no options.

When are people going to realise that the Premier League will always be a struggle for NCFC. The over confidence on here sometimes borders on the ridiculous and todays result is a timely wake up call.Still a long way to go and every reason to believe that there will be 3 teams worse than us and even if there aren''t it won''t be the end of the world.

Nope. There was most of last season where a couple of dimwits on here thought we''d win the league at a canter if only we had Lennon.

As I said on another thread we could have signed Kompany and made no difference if we lose the ball with 7 players in front of it. What''s even more worrying is that you apparently watched the game and didn''t notice...

It was only a few weeks ago most were saying how well we''d done in the transfer window, how lucky we were to have Neil, when''s Wes''s contract up? etc, etc

And now the sky''s falling in. Epic pant wetting, even for this board.

At least we can ring the changes and bring in Bennett and wisdom! 👌🏻

Of cause the PL will always be hard for us that really doesn''t need saying does it!? But why handicap the manager by failing to sufficiently back him! Next week that defence should be torn apart but there positions are safe as there is no competition there

How is it pant wetting ostrich? We have conceded 20 goals in 9 games without playing any of the big clubs and have three 1st team centre backs!

What we really need is a Vincent Tan/Tony Fernandes type character. Works wonders.

I think it''s Martin, Whitts, Bassong & Olsson doing the Pant Wetting, they have Swans, Arseanal, Chelsea and Man City to come, last time we played those three in the corresponding fixture we conceded 14 goals and only took 1 point.

Why defence only?

Our manager think that this is League One may be?

Whole team play very high on the field and and with so many passes that we make is normal ball to be loosed time by time so then with big hole is very easy for opposite teams to kill us.

And Tettey is subbed by Hoolahan is that joke or what!?

Arsenal ,Man City etc can score 10 + with this naive tactic.

We must learn from today and play more compact because we are not Barca simply.

Ricky, surely swansea and southampton fans thought the same. It doesnt have to be a struggle if you have a decent manager, which we do, and you back him, which we havent. The board have made a rod for their own back. This defence got us relegated and hardly looked watertight in the championship. People have known it was weak for two years. This hasnt been addressed despite neil clearly looking to strengthen it, and ultimately if we go down, then it will be almost solely this that causes it.

Dont be silly nigel. Kompany would have never been as inept as russ was for the 4th. Ball watching is something top defenders like VK don''t tebd to do.

It was obvious in Bulgaria KIO. Have a look at the goals again. Count the players on both sides. You will see as clearly as Boris could all those miles away. One man''s ball watching is another man''s trying to cover too many eventualities. Put your self where Russ was. Without hindsight which option would you have chosen? And having chosen it would you have left the other option wide open?

I''m not ready to pretend I know more than our manager though. And he wasn''t that far away today. Everything they did went in. Even if it was offside. Ours hit the posts and a stonewall pen denied. 5-5 anyone? And I guess once we were chasing the game we were never going to tighten up. Hence the bringing on of Wes.

I also don''t think our manager will play this way against Man City, Arsenal etc. But at the end of the day this is what everyone on here reckoned they wanted last time we were in this league...

Wish there was a like button. This is us to a tee. Never spend to strengthen. Embarrassing that a club that went down picks the same defence that got us there in the first place.
