Grant Holt

Recommended Posts

I ran this through Google Translate.

"Finally fit and back playing in the first team at Wigan midweek. Good news"

Equals

"I am at home, bored and lonely. Please abuse me."

Don''t blame me, blame Google.

I sometimes feel sorry for you, bor.  Following ex-players is quite interesting, GH in particular.  As it happens he''s been in the news up here, now he is back to full fitness, with talk of him being loaned to Carlisle.  Unlikely to happen, because they are skint, but it might just suit Holt, if the finances were right.

Come on, you couldn''t be a Norwich fan if you didn''t have a slight interest in how our ex-players (and proper fan favourites, at that) are doing. Surely everyone wishes him the best and coming back from a long-lay off is fantastic news.

Good to hear it thanks for sharing, how anyone can not give a s**t about Grant Holt is beyond me, certainly the most important player we''ve had IMO- in my lifetime.

Lapps'' hair splitting above is another prime example of people going for the player and not the ball.. surely you understand what LDC means?

If you honestly don''t then I will be more than happy to assist you... Grant Holt is a player who earns a lot of money in comparison to a club of the stature of Carlisle. Whilst the club is clearly in his heart it may be that his wage needs exceed that of what the club can offer. LDC has suggested that perhaps a middle ground can be reached which suits both parties. Pretty straightforward really, although I''m sure (I hope) you understood anyway.

Sorry to fuel the ''victim'' argument for Lakey but he really has done nothing wrong here.

That''s what I see when I look in the mirror.
I loved him as a striker, talisman, front man, all round hero.  I loved watching him demolish Ipswich at will, and I loved the diving, the theatrics, the ball up the shirt against Forest, the swagger he played with.
I lost most of my interest in him when he spat the dummy over wages and held the club to ransom, before performing at around 40% of his previous ability and generally giving the impression he couldn''t be ar$ed.
I lost more interest when he came out as a right wing money-grabbing Tory, though as a tyre fitter I should have realised his IQ wasn''t up there with his achievements.
Great memories, great performances, but past is past and I couldn''t be less interested in what he''s doing now.  I''m more pleased that Steve Morison, having been treated like sh*t by the "fans" of our club, is scoring goals again for Millwall.
He was right to request higher wages - playing a colossal part in getting us from the Third tier to the Premier warranted increased wages. He was told he was too old by McNally who had also got rid of Lambert because the latter wanted more money to purchase the likes of Benteke to play alongside Holt. Is it any wonder, after what they''d achieved for the club, that both Lambert & Holt were ever so slightly peed off?As for putting a downer on football staff because of their political beliefs, I bet you were ecstatic when socialist Hughton became manager [:P]
Thanks lakey, may have missed it otherwise

Great to seem him back

Too many binners on this thread
Yeah, don''t know why people get so cynical really.  His career at Norwich was fantastic and yet that has been obscured for one or two who not knowing all the facts, have decided he went against us in some way by trying to better his deal for himself and his family.   Great to see him back and being influential.  If fully fit again, he should tear up league one defences this season.

If we can devote post after post, page after page to Fabio Quagliarella, who never, ever wore the Yellow, then surely we can afford one of our all time greats the occasional mention.

There''s no room.  As much as I love Grant Holt, I''m not giving up my Arthur Scargill or Jeremy Corbyn statues and if I have more then two then the neighbours get to enforce their ASBO.

Holty and his family are returning here to live on a permanent basis, the ex-player community getting ever larger!

At the ''Tales From The City'' book launch last night when quizzed by Simon Thomas on the rumour he confirmed to an audience of about three hundred that the Holt family are moving to Norwich. Holty stated that he is not hanging his boots up just yet and there is nothing more to read into it.By the way Bor i have sooooooooo much man love for Holty it hurts.
