grefstad 0 Posted October 24, 2015 Almost all of our goals against comes from crosses or set pieces into our box,. Constant failure to clear our lines has been evident all season. Bassong and Martin are very poor in shutting out danger, and obviously not helped by poor fullbacks failing to cut out crosses. For Martin, his lack of height is a problem. For Bassong, his positioning usually lets him down. Anyway, we are leaking goals, and it is due to our "soft underbelly".I will try to dig up some stats about this, but pretty sure at least 80% of all our conceded goals this season come from crosses or set pieces. A Load of Squit 5,066 Posted October 24, 2015 A high proportion of the goals we concede happen on a Saturday, something else we need to work on.

ricardo 7,239 Posted October 24, 2015 Its not just the defence. How many times do we have to see the ball lost on our opponents 18 yard line, the ball switched wide and crossed for a goal within seconds, to understand where the problem lies. Its on the breakdown of our play in the opponents half that we become vulnerable. A ball can move faster than a man and we are constantly being undone by that speed.
