Hypothetically, would you?
How many millions would be expected to take on top ? 5? 8? more ???
Seeing as QPR were holding out for £15m, I think we''d have to offer £10m plus Wolf to have any hope.

The problem with offloading the Wolf is going to be getting someone to match his wages. I''m sure he''s a professional who tries his best in training but by turning down a move to Sporting Lisbon, a club he''s familiar with and been successful at, he''s made it pretty clear that he''d rather sit on his backside and trouser his wage than take a pay cut to play regular football.

All it shows is that he wasn''t willing to go back to Sporting. You just assume that "he''d rather sit on his backside and trouser his wage"; more likely he''d rather see if he could resurrect his career either with us or somewhere other than Sporting.

Nonsense. If wages were of no concern why would he choose to resurrect his career at a club where he''s comprehensively failed to make an impact and now finds himself fourth choice striker, as opposed to one where he enjoyed the most successful spell of his career and would be a regular starter? I can''t see how that''s a "more likely" explanation than the fact he didn''t want to take a pay cut, not forgetting that the public reason given for the move breaking down was his personal terms.
Whether it''s Sporting or somewhere else I expect he''ll be gone if and when a deal can be done that satisfies his wage demands, even if we end up subsidising them, as it''s obvious he''s surplus to requirements here.

Which part of ''Hypothetical'' don''t you understand? Do you read posts, honestly, some people with their ''End of story''.

They would probably rather 10 mill + Hooper + RVW and even then they might reject that.

van dikj (or however it''s spelt) and Austin would be amazing and we could all shut up for a few years about the board not spending enough on premiership quality.

Only replying to get rid of that C in the subject which Pliff happened to put in. Really a dumb character to manage that for some reason - he clearly read the ''Hypo'' bit but still a dumb ass to slip a character in there

And his failure at St-Etienne has probably ruled out that league. A team down at the bottom might just fancy him, but could hardly afford the level of wages - based on the failure to agree terms at Sporting - he seems to expect.

I think it was reported that he offered to take a 25% wage cut to go to Lisbon, but the difference was still too large.

Based on sat he is no worse than what we have anyway but any swap away would be good
