Reflections on Saturday

Recommended Posts

Reasons to be cheerful:

Losing to Palace is no disgrace. I read that after Pardew arrived they would have finished sixth in a full season last time out and that they had won five of the last seven away games.

We generally matched them and were worthy of a point at least.

Every journalist and even MOTD seem to agree that the disallowed goal should have stood. These things are remembered by the referees and we hope that there will be a pay back at some point.

A new striker joining us is at last appearing to become urgent.

We created enough chances to have won any game and Redmond and Jerome played well and looked up for it and good enough for this level.

I have great confidence that our manager will gain enough points to keep us up.

Reasons to be grumpy:

Please no more rookie refs for us this season.

Our defence is clearly a worry and has not been improved since our last time in this league, that is if Brady moves forward when Olsson returns.

Grabban is not good enough for this league, the first half chance should have been buried and he also missed another one when he was offside. He was hardly good enough in the Championship with his conversion ratio so no surprises.

Johnson looked out of sorts and especially slow but anyone can have a bad game.

No Cornish pasties in the ground!
