With the possible exception of Liverpool away, our opening 10 fixtures represented opportunities to pick up points. Our failure to strengthen the squad over the summer has made it appear increasingly unlikely that we will do so. McNally promised the striker problem would be solved by Monday and still nothing happens. Wake up McNally - we''ve got a striker problem and a defensive problem and unless both situations are not remedied with the addition of 5/6 significant signings we will have thrown our PL status away without a fight. Shameful. Consoling ourselves that we played ok for 30 minutes on Saturday does little to paper over the cracks that these players and, I fear, this manager, are nowhere near good enough to stop us from being this season''s PL whipping boys.
