Match thread v Southampton

Recommended Posts

No one can defend Whittaker - plain daft. He was already getting roasted by Tadic anyway. Usual scenario, crap defensively and hasn''t looked good because we haven''t got forward. Poor all round today even leading up to sending off and oh for a striker who would have buried that Jerome chance.

Oh well, all over as I type !!!! Keep the goals down now as could be a big loss

Stupidity from Whitaker once book he knows he''s on a fine line

Hes a professional footballer ffs.

I''m not his biggest fan and this simply adds to dislike of him in the team.

Anyone who rates Steven Whittaker as a defender really hasn''t got a clue!

Lightweight Howson concedes easy possession = goal.

I think I''d rather have seen Hoolahan stay on.......

From minute one we just haven''t been at it today - no movement, poor passing, poor defending and no energy. On the upside, we might have just found a new right back.

Didn''t look offside. Stupid goal to concede, giving away the ball in our own half and getting punished. Southampton have looked good but again we''ve been our own worst enemy.

Really disgraceful behaviour by the saints player on the sending off. Straight up in the refs face waving the invisible card and then celebrating getting him sent off like he''d scored a goal, high fives all round.

Can''t blame Ruddy for that!

Simply poor defending!

Yes he was just offside but Martin was no where and we let them have the ball so easily!

Poor play all round!

Today showing why we should have spent some money to strengthen this team , yet again one of our strikers misses a sitter at 0-0 , Jerome will not cut it in this league neither will the likes of Whittaker , Martin etc . We are a relegation waiting to happen .

Don''t think that was offside. Typical us though, holding out until stopage time then dozing off to let them score. Why not just hoof into the stands FFS.

Tadic had hold of whittaker and bought the free kick when he realised he wasnt going to get to the ball. The referee has been crap all game. Howson not up for it at all

We just seem to be giving up that unbeaten away record so easily. Typical Norwich !! Every team ends its poor run against us.

We were putting ourselves under pressure in midfield before the sending off, not strong enough on the ball and not appearing to be able to cope with being pressed, a poor day all round, it happens!

Of course we can still win.😄

Oh well.  Southampton were the better side long before the sending off anyway.  Their pressure led to Whittaker getting constantly caught out and panicking.Lots of below par performances so far - which is a pity as I thought we had a chance of another away win.  Hoolahan never really got into it before being subbed. While Redmond seems to have his mind elsewhere.Half time miracle team talk required from AN!

Can I just say bravo to Paul Moy. For someone with a brain injury you''ve fone really well to have registered on this site and continue to post opinions on it, even if they are total b0llocks.

Round of applause.

It was clearly offside.

How can someone say they "don''t think" it was offside? It is black and white, there is no grey area. His leg was offside, and by the letter of the law, he was offside, and the goal should not have stood.
