Match thread v Southampton

Lol the woodwork hiding Whittaker fans will be back out.

He''s made a mistake, I''m Not happy about it but could have been anyone else.

Let''s get organised, work hard, make it hard for them and get a result here.

Then we can spend the rest of the week moaning about Whittaker from the other side of the planet.

Opportunity for wisdom
2 pretty soft bookings
Both bookings though- if a Soton player did those we''d be baying for a yellow. Just utterly brainless.

It''s the first booking that was so mindless.

Two softer yellows for a red you probably won''t see this season.

You can''t seriously be defending him Buh?

He''s been an absolute prat!

So stupid and i would say it for any player who acted the same way!

To be fair to Whittaker both those bookings were saints players getting him booked by trying to run through him... Still he should be wiser than that after the first

I''m desperate for the general sentiment after this game to be

"Yeah, we won, but... Whittaker!"

Come on city!

No he made two mistakes. Two stupid, brainless mistakes that have let his team mates down and put us up against the wall.

Not thinking someone is good enough to play at this level isn''t a hate train.

and thats why we need at least two new defenders

on the bright side at least hoolahan has been taken off, i think he only touched the ball twice and one of them was to pass to a southampton playeri dont see the red card making much difference, we were doing a fine job of bypassing the midfield and hoofing  it up the planks for jerome to chase already, saints dominating us from the first whistle

I''m Not defending Whittaker but there''s been a bunch of fans that have been desperate for a reason to slate Whittaker

And today is Christmas day for them.

The hate from this will be monumental, and I''m just not down for that witch hunt.

It was a cheap red card. Both yellow cards were cheap, but the ref can defend both cards. It takes a big big clown to let his team mates by doing these two things and the ref got it right. It looked he didn''t wan''t to be in the team.

If I were the manager I would have given Whittaker minimum two weeks fine.

Regardless of how soft the first booking is, once booked a player should know not to do anything stupid to get booked again.

Despite Whittaker''s decent start to the season he will always be a liability. Two ridiculous bookings. Hopefully Wisdom takes his chance and makes the right back berth his own.

This was a winnable game but the way we started it was wrong as we conceded the initiative. Memories of Hughton...

Now I see what baggies fans were on about with wisdom, goes cantering forwards we lose the ball and then he saunters back arriving after the attack has practically finished!
