firststeps 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Great, very happy. But his primary role is a defender.

mrs miggins 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Good goal from him today, defensively though, him and whitts - eek. Very lucky today, which makes it even sweeter. Is Martin our top goalscorer?
Ray 111 Posted September 20, 2015 firststeps,If only our strikers were as good at scoring (and defending) as RM was, we could be dangerous!!
mrs miggins 0 Posted September 20, 2015 It would be like the Lambert days when we used to lets $hitloads in, but scored tonnes. Russel Martin is the new Grant Holt!
king canary 7,603 Posted September 20, 2015 Just saw on twitter that RM''s wife gave birth last night so didn''t join up with the squad till about 4am. Not sure if this is true but the tweet apparently came from his brother.
Hairy Kenneth 0 Posted September 20, 2015 I''m really pleased for Russ-drove back from Liverpool last night to be at the birth of his son, no sleep and flew back up just in time for the game. Yes he made a mistake but made up for it!
Hairy Kenneth 0 Posted September 20, 2015 Russ was already in Liverpool and came back to Norwich.
hogesar 9,657 Posted September 20, 2015 Brilliant from Russ. Proper captain.

firststeps 0 Posted September 26, 2015 How many more times...
Grant Holts Moustache 105 Posted September 26, 2015 What are you blaming him for this time?I''m watching and he has played well so far picking up good positions and keeping the ball moving. Showed really good intelligence in a few interceptions too.
Hairy Kenneth 0 Posted September 26, 2015 Maybe he means how many more times are we going to miss good chances where we could be well ahead?
JF 694 Posted September 26, 2015 Al Martins fault it''s 1-1 then is it!? We''ll overlook the sitter a Jerome missed to put us 2-0 up shall we?
lake district canary 4,531 Posted September 26, 2015 If he is talking about the goal, the cause for that was the poor pass in midfield that gave the ball away, nothing to do with Martin.
firststeps 0 Posted September 26, 2015 I''m blaming him for the equaliser, not closing down (that''s his defensive role) and not cutting out the pass! If you are watching you know what I''m talking about!
Wiz 0 Posted September 26, 2015 There always has to be a scapegoat doesn''t here? Martin''s been ok in my book.
Phillip J Fry 0 Posted September 26, 2015
If he is talking about the goal, the cause for that was the poor pass in midfield that gave the ball away, nothing to do with Martin.
Martin could have attempted to block Sakho rather than intercept the ball. He had already tracked him well and just needed to keep his position but chose to try and intercept. It''s just a split-second decision that, in this case, didn''t work out. It''s one of those things that will be mercilessly used to batter Martin when, if things had just been ever so slightly different, he would''ve picked the ball up and ended any danger of a goal. ca 1 Posted September 26, 2015 If we hadn''t missed two really good chances we wouldn''t be talking about Russell Martin
firststeps 0 Posted September 26, 2015 It''s not the point City Angel, the fact we kept a clean sheet in midweek when he wasn''t playing can''t be ignored?
Grant Holts Moustache 105 Posted September 26, 2015 It is the point first steps. Why should Russell take so much criticism from you but not our forward players who have made mistakes too?
Hairy Kenneth 0 Posted September 26, 2015 I hadn''t realised Russ is the only member of our current back 5 who didn''t play in the clean sheet mid week.
Grant Holts Moustache 105 Posted September 26, 2015 Good clearance off the line at 1-2 from him. There when it mattered, as he so often is.

Not that it will stop some people trying.
