Good player but his Premier League clubs are Newcastle and Palace. The big hitters haven''t taken him.

Cabaye for £10m or Mulumbu for £0?

He is a sensational signing for Palace and there probably won''t be a better coup this summer. As for the ''big hitters'' not taking him, Arsenal had a bid or two turned down two years ago, and PSG are certainly a ''big hitter'' by anyone''s standards.

Arsenal had bids turned down because moneybags PSG were after him, and if he is that good , how come they are prepared to let him go ?

PSG just a mid table SPL side at best......😆

Not a bad signing, does that mean Palace now not one of the bottom 3?

PSG are one of the best teams in the world. They may not be as good as Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern but they''re as good as anyone else. Cabaye still played 57 games for them in one-and-a-half seasons. He was far too good for Newcastle, and he is a regular for France. A club like Palace signing him, whilst he is still only 29, is an incredible signing.

It does show the value of being in the PL for a couple of seasons. I''m not convinced about Palace whoever they sign - Newcastle spent plenty under Pardew but were very ordinary much of the time.

He was far too good for Newcastle, according to our wacky waving friend, so will he be too good for Palace ? good luck to them, could work, but still a risk if he loses interest as allegedly happened with him at St James Park.

Can''t believe someone like spurs, West ham, Everton didn''t come in for him. Luckily for palace fans they were only ones who came in for him.

Decent side they putting together there Dann Mcarthur bolasie Zaha puncheon.

Yes, they''ll give us a good game first up. And as things stand, we''ll have Whittaker up against Bolasie. Good times!

The only advantage of Palace over us is their London base that I can see. What other pulling powers do they have?

Its a pretty big pull though. And more of a pull in this circumstance as Cabaye is only a train ride away from Paris.

This is a unbelievable signing IMO. He''s a class act, I''m genuinely shocked he''s moved to Palace.

Don''t really care who other clubs are doing only that we stay competitive and start signing some quality soon.

I''d still rather have Mulumbu for £0.

What''s Cabaye going to do? He''ll maybe get 3 or 4 goals from midfield, he''ll play some decent football and he''ll put in some dirty tackles (because he is a real dirty player).

Palace will probably have a decent season but it''ll still be more likely they''ll get relegated than finish in the top 6.

Two things strike me about this. Firstly that he didn''t play 57 games, he made 57 appearances. And then you have to ask yourself how many games that is out of? League fixtures, cup matches and champions league fixtures. Tot those up and I suspect that he''ll have appeared in 60ish percent of all fixtures and actually started a lot less.

He''s gone to Palace because of Pardew. Arsenal would only have offered a two year deal as they don''t make long term contract offers to over 30''s. It''s normally a year - two max.

He''s an odd one. He looked good for Newcastle but was given a relatively free role. It was arguably the best part of his career to date. He wont make that team on his own. They stil lack a decent striker imho.

Can''t pick any holes in that signing, you have to hold your hands up and say fair play, We couldn''t have got him as he would have only signed for a Europa League team or whoever Pardew was managing.

Palace are a bit of a bogey team for us and they''ll have a decent team this year, that opening game is going to be an absolute cracker!

Newcastle have signed Wijnaldum. IMO thats perhaps an even better signing.
