9 into 3

Recommended Posts

Most of identify that the back 4 is one area for strengthening, but who do you think will push for the three midfield starting places?

Wes, O''Neil, Howson, Tettey, Mullumbu, Dorrans, Vadis, Andreu, Thompson?

What about Johnson, if Olsson is fit and Brady comes into the right do we slot Johnson into the central midfield given he scored so many last season?

This is one area with some exciting choices.

I think the play off semi final away leg at Ipswich offered a glimpse into what Neil might intend to do in many away games this season, when the emphasis will be keeping it tight, when he selected Howson over Hoolahan in an advanced midfield role,

I can see first choice midfield being,

Mulumbu Tettey

Redmond Howson Brady/Johnson

Don''t you think Redmond is a shore bet for right wing?

I think Redmond will be rotated in and out like he was this season under AN.

AN seems a horses for courses kind of manager so doubt there will be a ''first 11''. Can also see Redmond being played off a striker more, in a floating role rather than just stuck out of the wing.

I''d expect Andreu to be much more involved this season. I can easily see this midfield working:

-----------------------Tettey--------------------

Redmond--Howson--Andreu--Johnson

No Mullumbu or Dorrans in many people''s starting 11?

For me I would start with Mullumbu & Tettey with Howson then Redmond and Johnson on the wings.
