Flying Dutchman 744 Posted July 17, 2015 http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/9915096/your-grounds-too-big-for-you-which-stadiums-were-closest-to-capacity-in-england-last-seasonNo major shocks, but the stat-addict in me loves to look through these things. Full table starts about halfway down the page.Comes as no surprise we were the highest ranking Championship team last season. And the binners at 65%. Bless. Flying Dutchman 744 Posted July 17, 2015 I''ve made a mess of that, can someone make it a link? Or tell me how?
ellis206 0 Posted July 17, 2015 Ours would be higher but suffers from the lack of away fans in many games. Ipswich''s were boosted by playing us, that''ll be lower next season
BroadstairsR 2,159 Posted July 17, 2015 I got there. Our % figure is probably buoyed by our limitations of capacity. A quick skirt through added Carrow Road up as the 29th. largest ground in all the leagues.Hopefully, one day we''ll be in a position to expand beyond the 30, 000 figure ... which we would probably fill, nowadays at least.Actually, OP, I don''t think these figures mean too much regarding the teams with the higher percentages as who knows what the case would be if, like us, if their capacity was bigger?More telling though with the lower percentages and MK Dons stand out, amongst a few others. BroadstairsR 2,159 Posted July 17, 2015 One sell out (of 23) won''t make much difference Ellis, although if the play-offs are counted then that would be a little bit more as well.Actually, Ipswich have decent attendances compared with towns of comparative size, and the fact that they have stagnated for the last dozen or so years cannot have helped. Syteanric 1 Posted July 17, 2015 Stadium MK is a concert venue/international ground 1st... home of MK dons 2nd.I await the day AFC Wimbledon get bigger attendances than MK dons..
Old Shuck 183 Posted July 17, 2015 Ipswich fans will no doubt claim that their ground is always morally 100% full to capacity.
TimDim 0 Posted July 18, 2015 Or that these figures have no meaning as it is historical attendance figures that really count.
