Tommo 51 Posted July 27, 2015 Recent article 24 July :- http://afriquefoot.rfi.fr/20150724-angleterre-imbroglio-dieumerci-mbokani/Rough translation:Not necessarily to the party in Monaco (2010-2011), Dieumerci Mbokani found colors to first Anderlech and Dynamo Kiev, which he joined in 2013. But the Congolese striker has desires elsewhere, including England Norwich which seems interested. "At the end of last season, I know the coach and the president that I wanted to leave. They agreed. If there was a good offer, they let me run ", explained the striker 29 in La Dernière Heure. Except that Mbokani is still in Ukraine. "Via Christophe Henrotay, an English club offered seven million, plus 25% to my resale. It''s still a nice amount, he said. But now the club wants ten to twelve million. I do not understand (..) I really want to play in the Premier League. I would have gone there in 2013, but I opted for Kiev, which plays every season for the title and participating in the Champions League or the Europa League. This is the right time to go. I have no personal agreement with the club, but I do not expect problems at that level. "Looks like this one could yet materialise, would be a lot happier with it than Murray, Fletcher or Lambert. havemyhowsonit 0 Posted July 27, 2015 Makes good reading that. Wouldn''t read too much into this one. I''d take Glenn Murray think he would be a good addition then get rid of RvW.
Yelloow Since 72 56 Posted July 27, 2015 The original talk was of £5.5m, which seemed reasonable as we were said to have made a bid for £4.8m or thereabouts. £7m is another thing and 10-12m is out of the question. I''d prefer Mbokani out of all the latest strikers we''ve been linked to, but only at the right price.
Hucks6 186 Posted July 27, 2015 Glenn Murray no better than we already have wouldn''t touch with barge pool to slow now
Pudd 1 Posted July 27, 2015 I guess he''s talking euros
kirku 1,358 Posted July 27, 2015 They''ll be talking in Euros. €7m is about £5m, €11m is £7.8m.Or we could hope it''s all in Hryvnia..
Splendid Rush 8 Posted July 27, 2015 In the AN interview on Canary Player he mentions the goalposts betting moved with one of his targets. Sounds like this fits the bill.
Splendid Rush 8 Posted July 27, 2015 *beingHas anyone ever given any thought to an edit button on this site? I feel like I might have seen it mentioned once or twice before...
Tetteys Jig 851 Posted July 27, 2015 Really hope there is still some life in this one, I have a good feeling about him (not just because of FIFA/FM ;-) )
Cantiaci Canary 610 Posted July 27, 2015 I can see a compromise being eventually reached here.
smooth 114 Posted July 27, 2015 A player and position with a £7 million valuation.A striker who would fit the team and add a great deal, a genuine starter.
smooth 114 Posted July 27, 2015 Never asked for an icon ha haAlso meant to say worth £7 million, a position and player worth £7 million.
Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted July 28, 2015 Apparently there was an issue with Mbokani leaving Kyiv as they still owned Anderlecht money on the transfer. I''m guessing Kyiv might have said to prospective buyers they need to pay off that debt, and then pay the €7 they want for the player.Whether or not Norwich are the interested party is uncertain, a lot of clubs have been linked with Mbokani in the last 6 - 12 months. Tetteys Jig 851 Posted July 28, 2015 Hopefully with us getting Wisdom on loan, there is spare money to do this deal.

He is worth what he is worth. Kiev can pay Anderlecht with the fee we would pay.
Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted July 28, 2015 Kyiv can ask for whatever price they want though. They want the €7m and and debt paid - maybe they have agreed a €7m deal for another player but need the funds. Whether anyone will pay is another matter - hence Mbokani is still waiting in the Ukraine. As for Wisdom, I expect we might see him and another defender come in yet. Tetteys Jig 851 Posted July 28, 2015 There''s still a yedlin sized gap at rb providing wisdom is played at CB...The Anderlecht money thing is a poor excuse. If they are willing to sell, they will set their price regardless of that business. £7m seems a fair price though, I wish we would stop messing around and just get it done ready for palace. I am more enthused by this link compared to the other strikers we have been linked to.
Bethnal Yellow and Green 2,424 Posted July 28, 2015 There is a dispute between Anderlecht and Kyiv about how much money is owed - due to exchange rates and certain clauses. Mbokani won''t be moving anywhere until that is sorted. Kyiv can set whatever price they like, doesn''t matter if you think it is ''fair'' or not. Norwich haven''t got massive pots of cash to burn so can''t go throwing money around.Mbokani is known for having a pretty bad attitude and has fallen out with more managers than most players - whether this is something Norwich want to take a risk on is debatable - as is whether he is good enough to step up to the Premier League - he has struggled outside of Belgium and Ukraine. Tetteys Jig 851 Posted July 28, 2015 Hmm, I guess. Reminds me of Gyan at Sunderland. I''m sure they would say it was worth it though. The Monaco spell wasn''t great but he seems to be exactly the type of player we need. Obviously it isn''t up to me, but I''d hope we can afford £7 million. Maybe we have to wait to shift Ricky first? Indy_Bones 444 Posted July 28, 2015 Not worth the money IMHO, in fact I''d MUCH rather keep RvW and pay his 40k a week wages than I would the club sign Mbokani, who I firmly believe is bang average at best, and with a well known bad attitude is NOT going to work well with a strong manager like AN. Hairy Canary 751 Posted July 28, 2015 If only RVW could raise his game to bang average the £40,000 a week wouldn''t stick in the craw so much
