lappinitup 629 Posted July 31, 2015 "DMITRI Halajko has been appointed as Norwich City’s new Under-21s manager on a permanent basis. The City Academy coach has been overseeing the Development Squad ahead of the 2015-16 campaign, but will now take on the position full-time with immediate effect.Academy Manager, Gregg Broughton, told canaries.co.uk: “Dmitri has done a fantastic job in pre-season to prepare the squad, and he was the strongest candidate from our interview process.“At this football club we want our teams to play a certain way, which Dmitri understands from being within the Academy set-up. He’s an excellent coach and educator, who the Football Association also think very highly of.“We wanted to have an outstanding young coach leading the Under-21s, as that is a model now used successfully by teams such as Liverpool and Chelsea. In Dmitri, we now have that system in place.”Halajko, who is currently in his second spell at Colney Training Centre, added: “I’m very pleased as it’s been a good start to pre-season, which makes the role even more exciting for me.“It’s been an enjoyable five weeks as the players have worked extremely hard to apply themselves correctly. To have the opportunity to continue that is something I’m really looking forward to.“I’ve worked with Darren Huckerby and Graeme Murty for some time now, so the synergy from Under-16s to Under-21s should align well. That’s what we’re aiming for at this Academy.”I''ve never heard of him. [:O]

NCFCmonkey 0 Posted July 31, 2015 He has worked with the academy for a number of years for the u13/14/15 ages. I used to work at a school where a number of academy players studied and Dimitri was in delivering sessions most days
Essex_Canary 6 Posted August 1, 2015 Coached with him and then against teams he coached while he was at Col U. A really talented coach and always had the time of day to talk things through. Was not surprised at all to see him snapped up by the FA and I know he was thought of highly by the likes of Pete Trevivian and John Alpress who have both gone on to senior positions within the FA coaching setup. Was part of the FA''s drive to push talented coaches into the younger ages groups where they would have the biggest impact on player development. I know he''s done his time with the younger age groups at Colney, will be interesting to see how he gets on in the black hole that is U21s football!
