Ken Aries 0 Posted July 29, 2005 I believe we''re about 3 players short of the squad we had last year, and most people regarded that as small. So, I was wondering if any of you NCFC anoraks/statisticians can tell me if this is the smallest squad for many years, or have City been as short of bodies in more recent times? Saint Canary 0 Posted July 29, 2005 I think it''s more relevant to compare the squad size with the others in the chamionship this year rather than opposed to when we were in the Premiership.
Northern Canary 0 Posted July 29, 2005 Smallest squad but more quality. I think Worthy still has one or two to go though

It''s only a few years ago when I think we had over 30 players, but many never got a game. One advantage is that Academy players get into the reserves sooner, so have a better chance to stake their claim for a first team place... not that we''ve been prolific at giving Academy players pro contracts in the last few years!
