ITFC 1981 is at it again.

Recommended Posts

Cop this load of total rubbish from the most deluded of the deluded ones on TWTD.  This is from the fool who has totally convinced himself that his club would have beaten Norwich if the last tie had remained 11 v 11.

"Just shows how deeply ingrained their inferiority complex runs. Despite promotion they have to strike out. They know in their hearts a clubs central goal is to win major trophies. This leads to uncomfortable soul searching for every scum fan. The result is a utter hatred of us. For it infuriates them that we can brush of their temporary league elevation as we operate on a higher plain of success."

Btw, the'' heart of hearts major trophies'' reference is an oblique reference to the three (yes three, no more no less) trophies they won in the Dark Ages. As if you didn''t know.

A higher plain of success?! That''s hilarious - I haven''t seen any evidence of that ''higher plain'' when we''ve been comfortably stuffing them over the last few years!!!!

Where on earth do they think they lie in the real echelons of modern football? There''s numerous sides down in L1 and L2 with trophy tallies the binmen can only dream of. Are they on an even higher plain? If so, it hasn''t done them much good in the modern era either.

Our promotion and 130 million cheque has made them all deluded it''s great to witness.

They seem obsessed by FFP it never features on our forums but a great reason for their lack of success

Perhaps less emphasis on Financial and more on Fair Play would prevent handballs on the goal line and sendings off.
They know in their hearts a clubs central goal is to win major trophies.....we can brush of their temporary league elevation as we operate on a higher plain of success."
So how have they been doing on their higher plain of success, since they last one anything of note ?One second tier title... we have won two in the same time, and a third tier title as well.  Cups ? Diddley squat, whereas we have won the League Cup. Even their FA Youth cup win is doubled by us. Otherwise qualifying for Europe, being in the top flight the longest, and finishing the highest, all belong to us. Higher gates, higher season ticket sales, higher income and no debt are ours.We own not only our ground and but our training groundas well. They own neither. It means the past that most fans are aware of, has been ours. The present being in the PL with another win at Wembley is ours. With £120m and far more to come over the years ahead in the futures is ours as well. There is nothing their awful little club has to offer bar fiddling, thieving and fraud, as yet again one of their players is up on charges of betting irregularities. Chopra revisited ? Or maybe back to their glorious past when just a few months after winning the title the club were embroiled in the notorious match fixing scandal of the early 60''s, where Sheff Weds players had taken bribes to lose to the binners. Coincidence ? Funny how that bit of their history never gets mentioned.

If Ipswich had achieved promotion ( [:D][:D] ) their grey haired fans would have been doing cartwheels only to fall flat on their kisser , quickly realizing  they hadn''t done cartwheels since they were 15 years old.

Ipswich haven''t won a major trophy in my lifespan. Them running on about it is the same as me going up to any non englishman and reminding them that we most likely colonized their country.

While it''s fun to hear their finger nails losing traction on past glories and for us to put matters straight by pointing out our nearly uninterrupted 20 years of dominance, we shouldn''t really be bothering ourselves with all this. We''re up. They''re not. Let them stew in their own financially mismanaged existence and turn our attention to how to spend the windfall wisely and ensure we learn from those ''smaller'' Premier League clubs who have not only stayed up, but flourished in the top flight.

Their top achievements outdo ours, that''s true, and it has been in my lifetime, giving it a modicum of significance, but if that''s all they''ve got to hang their hats on, it''s irrelevant nonsense. That''s why their stands are 1/2 empty. It''s become irrelevant even to them.

I''m the kind of guy who sees Portmange Road as 1/2 empty, not 1/2 full. ;)

The bizarre thing is reading their forum is that they think they have had a good season.

Having to watch hoof ball all year, 3 defeats by your nearest and not so dearest a continued accumulation of their debt and a limp exit from the playoffs constitutes success.

I would hate to see what a bad season looks like

By their standards they have had a good season.  No one has been jailed. Evans hasn''t flogged off any players and they have had a full house at their ground. Plus their aggrgate defeat to us is only 2-5. However it is perhaps ironic that their highest point in recent times has coincided with our lowest point in recent seasons. But we are now back amongst the top boys and they are back grubbing for points at MKDons and Preston.

"They know in their hearts a clubs central goal is to win major trophies."

Clutching at ever decreasing straws bollocks. If that was the case, 90% of football fans wouldn''t bother. Does he really think thats what all the football fans, country and worldwide go for, week after week, to see and hope of a trophy win and thats it, that the pure motivation, the absolute reason for attending, the hope, the joy and despair-for the trophies?

They don''t have a football club and they don''t have an argument-its this same old "...look at what we''ve won" stuff, tedium in the extreme. Does it hurt us whenever they say it? No. Its an argument you can take from fans of Liverpool, Man Utd, Arsenal etc-they are clubs defined by their history, players and managers, games and trophies won. But from Ipswich? It would be like fans of Sheff Wednesday or Bolton gloating about their history-and they don''t, they live in the here and now, not dusty old cellars shut off from reality.

Sir Alf and Bobby Robson, more sticks to try to hit us with-all I do know is that those men would be embarassed if not ashamed at the levels one of their former clubs has sunk to, more so theit fans for accepting that and putting up with it, content to swim in long ago triumphs rather than question the state the club is in now and has been in for some considerable time.

Shouldn''t flatter us about the "hate" though-I''ll devote that most negative of emotions to more important or relevant things whilst just looking on with grim amusement at their ever increasing desperation.

The only thing you can do is laugh at it...what a disillusioned b%*£¨d he really is... Like already mentioned above...there are so many more teams below them with a far more richly filled trophy chest... Nowadays it''s a trophy to be able to play at the highest level for a sustained period of time. They haven''t been there for many years and they won''t be there for many years to come!!! (at least I hope so :-) )

They''re just for off trip hiding away from their own failings for how many years now in that division?

They appear to forget we were in the top flight for 3 seasons previous to last.

Do they have a fear if they did some how manage to secure a place in the top flight that they would break their own record for the largest defeat? It won''t happen though with their owner, no investment, lack of fans and living in the world of yesteryear. As bad as Leeds and Newcastle fans living on past glories and not in the real world of today. What matters to me as a fan is where we are today, how we got here and where we are heading tomorrow, not what happened 30+ years back as a bragging right.

We beat them, again. We''re up again. They can''t argue against what the gap is now between the two clubs. Quality wins.

They can talk about the past and we can talk about the present and future but the fact I always think of is this.

Within a few years ipswich WILL go out of business, it''s inevitable! You cannot sustain that business model.

And when they do I won''t weep for them, I''ll dance on that clubs grave.

Teddy had multiple bets on us getting to the Play-Off Final and then winning it. Smart boy!

Not all his fellow supporters appreciate his obsession with our club. Many treat the fool with disdain.

The following sums up their feelings:

"It''s cretins like you who make it so easy for the budgies. Fforty thousand of them had the day of their life on Monday while you were sat hour after hour lpecking away on your keyboard like some woodpecker on speed. Do you really think any of them thought their day was diminished by not having won something over 3 decades ago ? Was our day at PR in the semis spoilt because of the game in August or April 2011 (ouch). No, it was a farken brilliant day. One where we shoved their beleif that it would be a walkover right up their jacksies. One where the ground was rocking and it was great to be a town fan. But no, they know they don''t have to try and answer that because numpties like you constantly hand the argument back to them by bleating about stuff that happened before most fans were born. We won the title 53 years ago. My brother first went to PR in 1966. Do you think anyone there would have given a flying feck about a trophy won before the first world war ? Now why don''t you take the advice of so many on here and shut up about the feckin'' scum budgies?"

Couldn''t have put it better myself (except the last line.)
