yoda 0 Posted June 1, 2015 Need to settle an argument,a club finishing bottom of the premier league is rumoured to be getting 120 million next season but does that amount include the parachute payments if relegated ?
It's Character Forming 1,156 Posted June 1, 2015 When talking about the playoff final they always use the maximum possible number which assumes you finish bottom and then get the parachute payments, so as £120m was the number used everywhere I''m sure it does. TimDim 0 Posted June 1, 2015 This gives a clearer picture as it outlines what will be paid from the season (2016/17) ie after this upcoming seasonclick herethe money is made up of 1. an equal share to all clubs2. an amount based on how many of your games are shown (minimum £10m guaranteed)3. prize money based on where you finish in the table4. an equal share of overseas broadcastingcurrently, finishing bottom gives around £60m plus £60m in parachute payments over 4 yearsan interesting take on our last season can be read here

SeniorCanary 0 Posted June 1, 2015 Or...you can read a post that had already discussed this http://services.pinkun.com/forums/pinkun/cs/forums/3254186/ShowPost.aspx
ricardo 7,239 Posted June 1, 2015 It is important to survive next season because the following seasons minimum payment will be close to £100 million. The parachute payments are also expected to increase pro-rata but my understanding is that they will be for 3 years instead of 4. According to that well respected football finance site (Swiss Ramble) the 3 seasons payments will be £35.7 million, £28.7 and £21.6 million. The gap between the Premier and the Championship will only get bigger and those who fail to make the step up will likely soon be at a permanent disadvantage. Faded Jaded Semi Plastic SOB 998 Posted June 1, 2015 You beat me to it Ricardo, we really must stay up as the rewards in the 2016/2017 season will dwarf what we earn in the 2015/2016 season, especially if we go down......
