pete 318 Posted April 12, 2015 We fail to take maximum points from last 4, which may not be enough if Watford match 4 wins and outscore City. However I expect with the teams we now face we should outscore them.Taking 4 points in added time against Hudderfield and now Bolton looks prophetic and is reminscent of Derby and the last promotion under Lambert. But games against Leeds who have lost last few games to mediochre opposition should be swept aside. Boro will need to win a draw is no good and they struggle away from the Riverside. Then there''s Rotherham who are struggling and will probably be safe from relegation by this game. Although its Fulham but they do not have any sort of record against Alex Neil.We have come so far Neil will not let it go now.
Katie Borkins 1 Posted April 12, 2015 Confused about your post, Pete. What about if we finish third or fourth and then win through the playoffs - do we not "deserve" that?
mrs miggins 0 Posted April 12, 2015 So we have to get enough points to get promotion? Did anyone else hear about this?
lappinitup 629 Posted April 12, 2015
Do not deserve promotion if.......We fail to take maximum points from last 4
What if we lose the last four and so do the teams around us and we still go up on goal difference? Will you stop supporting City in the Prem because we do not deserve to be there? kingsway 94 Posted April 12, 2015 We scored a last minute equalizer agains Huddersfield to get 1 point! We scored a last minute winner against Bolton yesterday to gain 2 more points!1+2 = 3 points we''ve got from those games NOT 4 as you say!
Gainer the Gopher 0 Posted April 12, 2015 The idea the top 3 teams all win 5 in a row to close out is ludicrous . For those so certain, place a bet. The payoff would be huge for something you deem a sure thing. The Middlesbrough game is by no means an easy win. For whatever slump they are supposedly in, they are 2 points from first place. peter-plastic 0 Posted April 12, 2015 so in your scenario, Lappinitup, both us and ''Boro will lose at CR on Friday :) If we lose our last 4 fixtures, we''ll be behind both Bournemouth and ''Boro at least, for sure. Get your drift, though.
havemyhowsonit 0 Posted April 12, 2015 This has got to be one of the dumbest posts ever. So if Blackpool win all 4 of there games they don''t deserve to go down? Isn''t that the same idea?
The ghost of Michael Theoklitos 0 Posted April 13, 2015 A similar point to the OP was made by a poster on another thread about a month back (http://services.pinkun.com/forums/pinkun/cs/forums/1/3230984/ShowPost.aspx#3230984 - halfway down first page) , this time saying that because we didn''t get all 3 points against Wigan and Huddersfield, we didn''t deserve to go up.I don''t understand this whole "deserve" metric people are making up. Surely the best metric is how many points you end up with after playing every team, home and away. The league format really does have this "deserve" thing nailed down. I don''t know why we need to keep inventing new ones. With 4 games to go, I''d wager that each of the 4 teams in the mix for the automatics will drop points. This isn''t the premiership. There isn''t a massive gap between the top and the bottom of the league. We just need to make sure we don''t drop as many as the rest, as well as get all 3 from Borough.
