Politicians are the scariest bunch of people you could find. The larger party politicians give the impression that they are incompetent, deceitful and even openly dishonest - anything to get one over on each other or to get votes.  At least some of the smaller parties have genuine and honest agendas, even if they wouldn''t have a clue if they got any real power.  Dogs'' breakfast of an election coming up, this one.

LOS, I don''t want to get into a futile debate about this, because I was hoping this thread could stay light-hearted, but they had the speech live on 5 live. He said that Labour should bear some of the responsibility for what happened in Iraq after the invasion there and that the current government should take some of the blame for what has happened subsequently in Libya. It was a very sensible point about need to deal with the consequences of intervention and that if you intervene, you bear some of the responsibility for the consequences. this seems to me to be a legitimate point but as ever the real argument is not discussed. Consequences.
