Satriales 628 Posted February 23, 2015 I know it''s a few games down the line but I live quite close to the New Den these days and was wondering what its like as an away day?Cheers.
Herman 9,710 Posted February 23, 2015 Same as the OP. Never been to Millwall so any tips would be good. Easy to get to, pubs etc. Ta.
BigManInTheBarclay 75 Posted February 23, 2015 I wouldn''t go in any pubs in the surrounding area with colours on. Even as far as Surrey Quays will have millwall fans drinking before the game. Best just heading straight to the ground if you aren''t ravelling in a large group.
Official Joe 0 Posted February 23, 2015 Been a few times. I know this won''t apply in your case but it''s best to drink at London Bridge and then getting the train. After them game, away fans are held back and advised (whilst waiting) about mixing with home fans locally. That said we got on the train with a load of Milwall fans and had a great chat and banter. jedi 0 Posted February 23, 2015 When I went it was freezing and they keep you in a pen until all the millwall fans have left the area, it took ages. So hope it doesn''t rain!
Branston Pickle 3,632 Posted February 23, 2015 I''ve been several times, I''m sure there are teams/games when they are busting for a fight, but we''re not likely to be one of them and I''ve not seen anything iffy...though there is always an undercurrent. Back in the days of the old Den it was weird being ''properly'' escorted to the station - police at the front, back and side, clearly expecting something....it was a bit weird. ......and Smith must score. 1,332 Posted February 24, 2015 People on here who remember the horrors of old Den will say It''s all pretty sanitised at Millwall these days. That said if we win it might be a good idea not to go giving it ''large'' especially after our Carrow Rd demolition on Boxing Day.Drinking away from the ground is sensible though. There''s plenty of pubs around London Bridge.

Syteanric 1 Posted February 24, 2015 have a drink at the train station or even better in the ground...the bars are decent and there''s a few big screens to keep you entertained for an hour
