Levi Stubbs 0 Posted February 27, 2015 Would it not be entirely appropriate to wave money at the ''zombies'' on Sunday? Your thoughts please...(For those that don''t know, Bobby Robson no less, labelled the bluescum just that, for giving his side very little vocal support during a game at Poorman Rd.I think that is an entirely more satisfying term of endearment for them, rather than the totally lame ''Binners'' label that has been attached to them, since one episode of a second-rate tv program that hardly anybody watched in the early nineties...) Katie Borkins 1 Posted February 27, 2015 Anyway, no it wouldn''t be appropriate or decent. The Scum tried it with us when Evans took over and it was crass and vulgar, and ultimately backfired. The only thing we should be waving at the binners is two fingers, and maybe a copy of the league table in the earliest editions of the Pink Un. nutty nigel 7,962 Posted February 27, 2015 Perhaps we could wave St John Ambulance collection boxes instead. Giving them the chance to give some back...
Mr Angry 2,088 Posted February 27, 2015 Binners is a far better name for them than zombies, it is unique, it has humour, and it conjures up the sense of cheapness and grubbiness that has been associated with them for the last few years.
Levi Stubbs 0 Posted February 27, 2015 Yes Bor. It has ultimately backfired and thats the whole point I was making, ergo thats why I think it WOULD be appropriate!!! Still if you want to be ''decent'' towards them....Where will we be able to get these ''earliest editions of the Pink ''Un'' btw? [:^)]

It''s like an insult a bunch of kids at middle school might hurl at each other in the 1960''s..

The earliest editions are held in the Forum.I don''t want to be "decent" towards them, but neither do I want us to look like a bunch of money-obsessed morons. Ok, that''s pushing it a bit, but binner is a good nickname.

The five year gap before the next series meant that by the time it was brought back, the edges were smoothed off and it lacked the same spark. Still good, but not the same. Herman 11,177 Posted February 28, 2015 Loved the East Anglian locations as a youngster. Always reminded me of Norfolk. (Watched the whole series through on a Freeview channel, good sunday hangover tv.)Zombies?? Pah!
