Three points.

Recommended Posts

Three points tomorrow and we are in third place, three points away from top spot.   As we have to play Midds''bro  and Deby at CR, we could forget what the rest are doing - it will be up to us.   What a game in prospect tomorrow!

Had a feeling Derby would slip up at Fulham, but Middlesbrough losing was a real bonus. We just need to win a 6th consectutive game. When did we last do that?

I wonder if we ever have. Thing is though it should be no more difficult to win a 6th game after winning five in a row than winning a third game after two.

Over confidence, injuries and who you are playing are obviously factors, but "approach one game at a time" is the right way to look at this.

Although the odds of winning 6 in a row is very small - less than 1 in 700 if we assuming equal likelihood of a win, draw or loss, by the same reasoning the odds of winning the sixth game is still 1 in 3.

The top two sides lost today. Win, and we''ll be up to third.

Carrow Road will be loud tomorrow; the home crowd will play their part - what more incentive could the players possibly have to get the job done?

Look at 1982. We achieved a five and a six match winning row with on defeat in between to haul ourselves up from 13th to a promotion place. In the 1985/86 season we achieved 10 wins on the trot and it could have been 17 but for one defeat and a draw in between. We took the title that season. Some fans need to recognise that this stuff has been done before. That you can get a certain feeling about the team when you know they are going to succeed. The team has it now. It is going to bulldoze it''s way to the top and most likely stretch the lead as well.Time to stop being frightened of believing.

I like the word "bulldoze".  That is what it will take for any team to get to the top and stay there. No good doing what the others are doing, getting to the top then not able to capitalise - and like we did earlier in the season.  That belief and determination has to be there and we seem to have it atm.  Yeah, "bulldoze".  Like it.

Seriously Morty, can we not have a single day without this? It''s getting really tiresome on here.......Honestly, what''s the point? It''s a valid point LDC makes, it opens up debate and yet it looks like another thread is going to descend into your pathetic point-scoring.Be happy! [B]

It''s a silly game, making banal threads pointing out the obvious. He knows exactly what he is doing.

No it''s actually a fair point about our destiny being in our own hands.

May not be earth shattering but worthy of debate without you trying to ruin it.

And yes the two home games against Boro and Derby could well be the ones that decide our season.

Yeh two threads that I can see both started after this one. And you chose to comment on those without trying to ruin them.

Exactly.  Much as yesterday''s "it doesn''t matter we''re playing Ipswich" thread could have been posted onto the, er, "the opposition aren''t relevant" thread that already had c. 2,000 views and 40-odd posts.
The poor fool has some kind of chronic Attention Seeking disorder.
Or Stating the Obvious disorder.
Or Unable to Convey Point Clearly disorder.
Or all three, there''s bound to be a term for it these days.
Personally, I prefer "twunt".

Predicted LDC threads for March:
"Winning is better than losing"
"If we all get behind the team then we''ll all support them"
"It''s wetter when it''s raining"
etc.

And there we have it.  A reasonable thread started in good faith, with a footballing theme, the first to say our destiny is in our own hands and along come Morty and Bor to disseminate their bile and unpleasantness.  Well done chaps.  Good we''re doing well at the moment isn''t it?

You know exactly what you are doing.
The fact you are willing to participate in a Scheme, regardless of the charitable intentions, whereby you literally pay to start threads shows how self aware you are of this silly game.
You arent a complete idiot, you occasionally have interesting things to say, so why embarrass yourself by continuing this?

You''re wrong.  It was Tilly''s idea, not mine. I went along with it and offered to pay for the month''s I did post threads, that''s all - it simply means the charity gets a fiver every month from either Tilly or me, whether I post threads or not. So it was not regardless of charitable intentions. Quite the opposite.

Not interested in yet another " yeah well, you smell" debate, you crack on with the game.
Have a great evening[Y]
Me neither, but lets not forget who started the cr*p on this thread - and it wasn''t me.  Someone I met at Blackburn said you were ok in real life. Seems a bit far fetched to me.

Whatever, OTBC - lets hope those three points arrive tomorrow putting us within reach of the top.  That was the point of this thread, after all.
Yep Morty I was prepared to pay a fiver a month to shut him up but he was having none of it. [:D]
You needed to up the ante, Mr. Tilson, and threaten to break all the mirrors in the Lake District, although perhaps even that would not have been enough because all the rivers would still need to run dry. Any location where the dear one can find a spot that reflects how he strokes his beard. At least Wordsworth used to have to walk the hills and vales before he waxed eloquent, whereas Lakey just has to roll out of bed to attack the internet with his revelations.   [:D]

I would rather have three points than no points, but if I could not have three points then I would hope for one point as opposed to no points.

I should probs have started a new thread to discuss this.
