Quite so - only a matter of weeks ago we''d have seen us being sat in 4th, 5pts off the top with 8 games to go, as good progress. It is just tinged with annoyance that only a week ago we''d got as close as 1pt and could have made even more progress.

But the point is, league placings mean precisely nothing at all right now - the only table that counts is the one after 46 games. If the last 5-10 games has told us anything it is that gaps can be made up as quickly as they appear. It is down to us to get back on a winning run which will see us through to the top two.

It''d be nice of Watford or Boro could succumb to dodgy refereeing like us and Bournemouth have had in the last week. These things even themselves out right?

If we can get back within 3 points of them two again on Saturday, it''s very much game on.
Dorrans starting to get more game time - so expect us to fall away further if this continues.
First-class arbitrary scapegoating, well done. If he doesn''t score or assist in every game he must be rubbish, right?

No his inclusion at central midfield has meant a changed to that pivotal position resulting in a huge momentum swing of our results. He has looked ok - tidy rather than spectacular going forward, but a real weaklink defensively. We were doing perfectly fine until Tettey''s suspension resulting in a change for 2 games. Tettey''s back now - there''s no reason to play him or to think Dorrans'' to better than he actually is. His last performances have swayed quite a few fans - but believe me - he''s a real white elephant !

The current results - it''s no coincidence !

I think it''s the lack of Tettey rather than the inclusion of Dorrans.

We always look a far better team with Tettey in it but by his own admission, can only play once a week.
Our current form is pretty awful to be honest. We''re going to have to go some now to get into the autos
But with the exception of Watford so is everybody elses and nothing is by any means certain yet. Everything still to play for because most of the teams involved will have a stumble or two over the next 8 games. We stand as good a chance as any other team.

Yes agree with you Herman - but that was episodes ago.

When Grabbon was injured I expressed in earlier posts that he was a "key" and we would struggle to replace him due to his style of play. So needed to alter our play to accommodate the strengths of players coming in such as Hooper & Jerome.

If you examined the season closely you will realise that its actually Grabbon/Hoolahan as our most inportant combination. We were 1st on the table when Hoolahan was injured at the end of September. Grabbon was dropped due to the change in combination. We dropped to about 11th. Hoolahan recovers and is back with Grabbon and we start a run again. Grabbon is injured so that combination stops - no coincidence the results have dropped.

We are pass that - this is a totally different issue. our problem at the moment - Tettey taken out of his holding position to accommodate an inferior player in that position !

The decision to play this guy as a quarterback to crap !

As mentioned earlier, Tettey can''t play 2 games a week so someone inferior to Tettey in the holding position has been playing once a week.

This is not rocket science. Would you prefer to see Whittaker play that role?

Yes understand that Clint - ok Tettey can''t play twice a week but shouldn''t BJ be the backup for that position ? We will miss his power shooting from the left but in that defensive midfield position - at least he can tackle.
