The Phantom 0 Posted March 24, 2015 Doesnt sound very amicable. Maybe paying the price of poor business in the January transfer window and subsequent issues in the loan market?

Graham Paddons Beard 2,424 Posted March 24, 2015 These guys rely on success as much as anyone else in Football. Bag a couple of bargains and you make a name for yourself. Simmonds just followed the well trodden path of people who didn''t come up with the goods, and this might mean that DM had bigger expectations than has been realised in this window. Ewan Chester went the same way . You can believe that Chester went for "personal reasons" (and then turned up at Brighton) , or you might think the financial disaster that was Wolfswinkel played a part. Lessingham Canary 99 Posted March 24, 2015 What is interesting about his departure is that they just devoted 6 pages on him in the Canary magazine (spring 2015) which is telling us what a great job he has done since joining in the summer, so something big has happened, doubt we will ever know ? SeniorCanary 0 Posted March 24, 2015 Alex probably asked for his recommendations, which he then ignored going by Simmonds''s previous rubbish. Barry then resigned after Alex gave him his truthfull assessment of his said rubbish....

smooth 114 Posted March 25, 2015 I said all along once Adams left there would be big changes. This system was put in place for Adams and McNally thought it was the right way.Now it is right to have a normal system. Gutted about mike phelan, but no question things are now right for AN and for the future.

Gutted about mike phelan, but no question things are now right for AN and for the future.[/quote]The "Norwich way" thing has been tried twice now in the last six years with the Gunn dream team and then the Adams dream team. Neither was a complete failure - even Gunn''s tenure had some positive impact in wiping clean the club of loanees, so when Lambert came in he had a squad to work with - and Gunn got us Grant Holt. Adam''s tenure was not as dramatic a failure in terms of results s Gunn''s, but it fell short of what was required in terms of best use of the squad. But........it led the way for Alex Neil. So as much as the Norwich way has not worked as well as desired, it has been the catalyst for a dramatic up turn in both cases. As Smooth says, the system created for Adams is no longer necessary and is pretty much defunct as a plan - the route forward is having a strong manager and positivity on the field. When the crisis of relegation to League 1and possible financial meltdown was a danger, a financial package was put in place to enable us to buy a few players and he was able to get rid of all the loanees.
